I really do love Aru's group. They are an antagonistic force for this story right now, but they are loveable in their own way. Especially with how Aru wants to be this badass outlaw so badly. Mutsuki is good at pushing her buttons and the whole group just has a nice dynamic together. Too bad for them that this mission just won't work out.
Also like that we got a brief flashback of younger Aru. She clearly wanted to break out of the status quo and this path of being a "hard-boiled outlaw" is what she chose to go down. But life isn't that easy. Hilariously the Abydos girls helped give her hope again . Congrats to Hifumi. Started this day just looking for Peroro goods and ended up as the legendary Faust! A hard boiled leader of the Masked Swimsuit Gang! Honestly that cash might be tracked so taking it might be problematic. I'd be all for taking money away from people that won't use it for anything good...but admittedly they'd only use that money to pay back the loan from someone that would not use that money for anything good anyways. I get trying to keep them from going too far. But considering Aru's group will take that money and probably use it to buy more mercenaries to attack with...doesn't feel like good karma is playing out here.

so hoshino is more than just a lazy girl, she is pretty aware of how things are working on the side and why nobody has helped them.
and haruka just went crazy to make the real villany debut of problem solver 68 but the true villians appear at the end to steal their shine. |

Hina stole the show here .
I did enjoy the Abydos and Problem Solver 68 team-up and how well they did. But I also got a good laugh at how Aru's crew bailed the heck out the moment Hina showed up. They weren't pulling that united front thing in front of her! I mean sure it helped the whole "what Problem Solver 68?" thing, but honestly Hina knew they were there and likely just wanted an excuse to pull back the troops. Not the type that would have gone along with this sort stunt. The team play was good to be sure. Unfortunately Gehenna's biggest advantage was pure numbers and that means nothing in a show like this . The mobs are basically easy to ignore. Which really turned it into a 9 vs 2 fight with Iori and Chinatsu unable to win with that kind of disadvantage. Iori is good, but she's not that good! Says plenty about Hoshino as well that someone with the crazy reputation of Hina considers her extremely noteworthy.

I liked a lot of this episode. Hoshino's flashback being at the start was good and it was great seeing her legitimately serious. Everything tying together with this very much being an episode about Hoshino. Well about her while she's not necessarily in every scene. The Gehenna stuff was actually really nice. Some nice flashes of how absolutely intense Hoshino was and that you can't judge people based on what you see on the surface. And I thought it was pretty fun how Hina wasn't giving Ako a break. If she wants to exaggerate then she better watch out for actually having to live up to that! Hina probably was legitimately upset at how Ako put everyone into danger on a reckless mission like that.
PS68 is always a goofy and enjoyable bunch. Good on them for dropping off that money since...they did screw up there. And fitting that they had to bail out on their base. Haruka definitely needed that moment of apologizing since she messed up the most out of anyone. In terms of Sensei I'm only going to be worried if they have Shiroko filling all of Sensei's big moments coming up. Then we could start wondering about what they are doing here. But for now I'm mostly ok with what they are doing. Since Sensei only gets so many big moments in this first arc. Having Shiroko meet with PS68 is fine for me. Ending was certainly something interesting to read into... And that's about more than just Shiroko's shower scene ! Although honestly between that and Hina's thighs this episode managed to find the time for some fanservice. But beyond that the scene was pretty darn tense. A bird flew in and broke some stuff. Probably just foreshadowing for how things are getting serious, but I guess we'll see.

debt, contracts, money... when it comes to it, the solution is complicate and not easy. They are in a in a corner without knowing what to do besides relying on illegal means but that's not an option.
the only option would be hoshino dropping out like that flaming guy wants and everything will be solved, but it's obviously a trap. I'm kind of disappointed on teacher since he hasn't be any help in this case as now. I hope he does something soon or he will be just like doctor of arknights anime. |

Sucks when a slimeball like that holds all the cards. Even if Hoshino wanted to it'd be pointless to pick a fight. Though it was cool seeing her so blistering and ready to smash that guys face in. But she's got enough responsibility that she can't afford to take it that far. Sadly they lost the moment they were spotted.
I do think it's a bit naive for the girls to presume there's nothing out there. If Kaiser has spent all this time and all that money to get this land they sure as heck don't think it's worthless. And there are valuables in the world besides oil . They don't even have to lie because what can Abydos even do about it? It's Kaiser's land now. It's not even a debt problem. The land was sold. Abydos would have to buy it back and Kaiser wouldn't be under any obligation to sell it. Quote:
In a rational perspective the only option really is to cut their losses and transfer. If we cut away love for school and homeland from the equation that is the only real choice they've got left. But we're not taking that option so all they can do is struggle.

Have definitely seen that sentiment in various places . Though it does make sense as sad as it is for that particular character. She's not going to show up in anime form for a long while (presuming they keep pumping out seasons) while Yume made sense to get a voice thanks to the flashbacks.

I've got to say that Shiroko handling Hoshino's shield provided a pretty striking visual. It's not a bad look for her. That shield is pretty darn strong too! It took a big hit and let her strike back. Props to Sensei for being able to toss that thing! He's got better upper body strength than you'd think .
Sadly for Hoshino she was utterly played. Desperation does cause people to make bad decisions though. Even though the history of Abydos is this exact thing. Sometimes even knowing your history isn't enough to avoid repeating it. It was a total disaster too. She didn't manage to protect anything and has actually made Abydos' situation far more dire. It's now a free for all with Kaiser having the luxury to power their way into taking the school by force. They lost this round, but PS68 aren't Abydos students and can't be expected to be there 100% of the time. And Hoshino herself is now stuck in a creepy room and isn't likely to escape under her own power. Not a good spot. But a good situation for a dramatic last couple of episodes.
