Maybe Liden is busy making another anime?
Still, I wonder how they'll handle Misao since season 1 toned down the comedy a lot in general when compared to the manga or the 90s version. I mean, Misao was specifically created to contrast Kenshin's seriousness since this story arc is quite darker than previous ones.

I finished the series on May 14th, out of all dates.
I haven't posted here in the thread for a very long time. So, I will be as brief as possible. I enjoyed this first season very much and thought it was an earnest attempt at accurately adapting the manga. The first series, although a classic, is really inferior to the original work, IMO. It's really nice to see Watsuki's magnum opus being given finally the proper treatment, although we waited too much, and still will have to wait. I guess we will really enjoy the ride in the Kyoto arc, and then perhaps, finally the Jinchuu arc! Of course, it's not perfect, but perhaps it is as close as we can get to it. Rurouni Kenshin is the only manga I read from start to finish to this date, but I finished it years ago, and I don't remember everything. Speaking of which, those two episodes with "Doctor Elder" were filler, weren't they? |

I think I have that Restoration manga (the 2 volumes!), though I never read it. I guess it is time! |

Well, I am glad they still adapted something "canon", so to speak. But I don't really see why it was necessary, either. Perhaps they were just trying to fill the 24-episode count? |

Speaking for myself, I thought it was a great and very logical move to make the first "season" be the Tokyo arc, and leave the whole of the Kyoto arc to the next season. If it was the best they could do, though, then well, what to do about it? I guess it's "okay", at the very least. |

Wonder how are they gonna handle Misao; the director said they wanted to tone down the comedy and Misao was specifically created a comical character to contrast Kenshin's more serious personality from this arc. I think we didn't hear a single oro in the trailer
