I saw these http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_01.jpg http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_02.jpg http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_04.jpg http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_05.jpg http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_06.jpg and thought there must be a battle system. Special Manuever? http://www.tactics.ne.jp/~baseson/ko...age/sys_08.jpg . I mean if there is any and I mean any combat or gameplay elements I'm still interested but if this is straight ADV (click, click, click, choice, click 4 hours later the end) I am out completely. The first screen also seems to have victory and loss conditions as well as a showdown. I'm seriously not buying this no gameplay thing. It's definetely not going to touch Sengoku Rance, but there must be something. |

To be fair, BaseSon did describe the game as a AVG, so I'm not expeting much other than the humour.
If anyone want a good tactical Three Kingdom game, there's Sangokushi Taisen for the DS, release just a day before Koi Hime Musou. PS :- Jin Kobayashi draws for Sangokushi Taisen :- Looks like the in trend now for Three Kingdom games is to redesign the characters..... So will Koei follows in this step ? Koei already had a fantasy Romance of the Three Kingdom PS2 game called Kessen2 (released 2001). I enjoyed its tactical gameplay and the fantasy spin, though from what I understand it did not sell very well.
From left, Liu Bei, Diao Chan (whom Liu Bei fell for), Cao Cao |

Pick your General(and thus your hissatsu Ougi)
Pick your Strategist(grants bonuses to various formations) Sidenote for the Formation rating system. Star(Best) Double Circle Circle Triangle Dash(No Effect) Distribute soldier percentages between Light Infantry, Heavy Infantry, and Archers.(Initial Values affected by General choice, I think) Begin Battle. Formation stuff next time I post. Last edited by KBTKaiser; 2007-01-28 at 01:52. |

Formations
For 1-5, the offense formations, it becomes more and more geared towards offense as the numbers go up. For 6-10, the defense formations, it's the same for defense instead. 1) Arrow Formation (Good for using Light Infantry as Offense, Good for using Heavy Infantry as Defense) 2) Scale Formation (Heavy, Archer) 3) Wheel Formation (Light, Heavy) 4) 8-Door Lock Formation (Light, Archer) 5) Wild Hidden Lure Formation (Light, None) 6) Crane Wing Formation( Archer, Heavy) 7) Parallel Formation (Heavy, Light) 8) Slant Formation (Archer, Light) 9) Cresent Moon Formation (Heavy, Light) 10) Square Formation (None, Heavy) *eh, fudged the names for 5,7,8, and 10... There's a 5 part cycle in beating the formations, which give you an advantage. Group 1 Formations 1 and 6 ...beats... Group 2 Formations 2 and 7 ...beats... Group 3 Formations 3 and 8 ...beats... Group 4 Formations 4 and 9 ...beats... Group 5 Formations 5 and 10 ...which beats Group 1, creating the loop. |

In battle, you pick a formation at the beginning of each turn/day.
After that, you can pick to have a Light Infantry Rush, Heavy Infantry Advance, or Archer Arrow Shower. Ougis charge depending on the length of time needed and such. Click the Ougi to activate it before choosing an attack.(note: if you click ougi multiple times, keep track of how many times you click as the 2nd click toggles it off) Basically, it's a elaborate game of rock-paper-scissors. ...As for some more detailed things... *rummages through his mind a bit* ...dammit, I knew I should've taken notes on enemy ougis and their effects... |

A good first attempt. We can always look for Koi Hime Musou 2 given the huge cast of Three Kingdoms.
The current cast is only up till Red Cliff where things gets interesting. Looking forward to how Sima Yi looks like in Musou 2 as she should be the true big boss instead of Cao Cao like how it's playing out in Ikkitousen. |
