Lol, starting up the "I'm gay for Zero" movement, eh? Thanks but I pass!
Hope that serves as a good source for you. I skimmed through it, but didn't see any running scenes, but there're some walking ones, and their perspective is good too.

Anyway, moving on, here's something I'm working on.

Spoiler:

I know, it sucks, but it took me some time to finish it so yay. I'm thinking about finishing this one as is. Tsubame's right ( viewer's POV ) is crap, so don't even bother with it. I know what I gotta do to fix it, but ask me if I wanna erase half the entire thing as of now. Sheesh.

Rip away.

The only thing i can really say is in the rather *cough*euggestivepic*cough* her legs could be a bit longer under the knees. Other than that i just never could get used to that style of noses, nice work though ^.^ Looking forward to seeing more

As always, nice work~~ ^^,
About the only things I see as quite a bit off are her shoulders and the fingers of her left hand. For the shoulders, I think it's too short; and then her fingers seem a bit short.
The pose on the right girl is nicely done though~ ^^

I don't usually draw them that thin and low like that, but like I said down below, it's 'cause I messed up and couldn't find a suitable place to draw her nose at, so I had to improvise. And I'll see if I can work on the leg thing like you said, though I think it might not look good, since I wanted her to look a little further away in the background. But we'll see.

Thanks for that, but yeah, I kind of messed up that one as well. Tsu's face was better before I start playing with the nose, and then everything went downhill. I'm afraid if I erase anymore, I'll rip the paper. And I'll see if I can fix her fingers. About her shoulder, I tried to give her a little "shrug" aspect in there, with her shoulder and arm a little closer to the body because of the position, but I guess it didn't work out. I'll see what I can do.

And Hikari on the right isn't bad, I gotta say too... but it took me a lot of time to get that body right. You know, drawing people from behind at 3/4 isn't that fun. I actually like drawing both of them, since their personalities are a lot of fun to play with, so almost anything will suit them. Luna and Hatoko are the compelte opposites, though.

So, did that book help you in any way? I've got a whole lot more around here, if anyone wants. Here's a list:

Note that I did this using AsgardPatcher ( Old as hell RO data compiler :P ) so it has that "Data\" stuff in there. Just ignore it.

By the way, I just went to the Library and came across a pretty useful book, from the same "How to Draw Manga" series, called "Pen and Tone Techniques". It's kind of silly how they go about telling the story, but it works for the beginners like so many of us. Pretty good information I didn't get anywhere else, like paper size, weight, the different types of pen nibs and their strengths and weaknesses and things like that. Also pretty good tone tips, but since I'd rather use the computones on a computer program, I'm not much into them.

Edit:

So, am I the only one who didn't leave the PC for christmas? I feel lonely in here.

:x People should start coming back now xD In my case, my siblings have work again so I can actually come back to the PC!! Whooo~!!
Anyway, I still haven't gotten a chance to actually sit down and absorb the book in-depth; but from the quick glance through I did, I'd say it's gonna help lots. ^.^ Thanks for the PDF :3~
As for the other books, they all look like they'll help lots, but I think I'll go through the first one for now. Thanks for the offer as well :3~

Anyway, since I never got to get online during Christmas, guess I'll just greet everyone here a belated Merry Christmas~
Now I just need to get back to drawing stuff again... but then Comiket71 is tomorrow... I am troubled...

Well, my main problem is that I have so many of them that I spend little time doing in-depth research and practice on each, and end up skimming through many of these in little time and absorbing even less information.

Anyway, I'll be away for a few days. My mom suddenly decided, this morning, that we're going to Disney for the next three days. Tomorrow I'll drive about 200 miles to Orlando and on Thrusday we'll spend the day there. Which means that I won't be able to draw even on a napkin, having to take care of my brothers and all. Sigh, only 8 more days of Winter Break, and I haven't finished even three drawings. So much for someone who wanted at least one a day, eh? Next semester will be hell, with 6 classes, 4 of them being hardcore math-related courses and a 3.8 GPA to maintain, I'll have little to no sane time at all to be able to draw. Sigh.

Still, here's one I've done to test a set of pens I bought the other day. I have to say that, quality-wise, it turned out to be FAR better than I expected it to be, with my past experiences with inking and all. Seems like Maru/G/Turntip pens work better for me than the Rapidograph technical set, after all. It still turned out to be really crappy, especially after I got pissed at my Cable modem for acting up and the pen became airborne, causing major ink smudges around the drawing. I also just quickly sketched something, so it's probably all completely anatomically incorrect, but as of now, I'm not even caring about that.

Spoiler:

Rip away.

Edit:

Lol, before I get on the road, wanted to show you guys the true meaning of the phrase "Quantity doesn't mean Quality". This is a picture I just took from my stash of drawing materials. Hundreds of dollars wasted in a hobbie that only serves to make me wanna punch whomever thought about the idea of teaching me to draw (Grandmother, I guess). Anyway, I'll be back on Friday to brace for another semester. Lawl.

Back then when I draw somethin', I usually just draw it without any instructions or concepts whatsoever. Later on I started learnin' & usin' the "Draw a circle, draw the jaw, draw 2 lines" kinda concept. I only use this concept when it comes to free hand, freestylin' fan creations such as these: (Some are scanned, but some are taken with a digital camera due the my printer broke down)

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...aZy/Itachi.png

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o.../yakuzavy7.png (quality enhanced with photoshop)

When it comes to drawin' people's faces. I don't use any concept, just sketch the whole thing which ends up takin' a big amount of time.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...y/BruceLee.png

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...y/Scarface.png

At the moment, I'm learnin' how to sketch chibi characters. Even though they look simple and cute. Took me quite a while to finish.

This is somethin' I had to do for an art gallery at school. Also, the poem isn't mine.

I'm a big fan of comedy manga. Which led me to create some of my own. I'm a beginner when it comes to draw comic strips, so it's pretty bad.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...aZy/hahaha.png (read left to right)

Photoshop was used to enhanced the quality.

Overall, as for method. What I do is, take a cartoony/anime character, sketch it and make it look as realistic as possible. Or I can take a picture of a real-live person, sketch him/her and make it look as cartoony as possible. Similar to caricatures which is what I'm practicin'. Heres a realism sketch of Ukitake:

Wow, all of your stuff is very well made and there isn't a single one of the drawings you posted without an Awesomeness Seal of Approval on them. I, however, think you're one of the gifted people who've got that heavenly touch called natural Talent. Guard it with your life! I'm this bit of chopping off your hands and using them as a spare.

Pretty nice. From what I've seen on your other topic, you improved a lot. Artpad is flexible, but I wouldn't use it for anything more than simply sketching. Some people can do amazing stuff with it, but I simply don't have the patience to play around with it.

Quote:

Yeah, I forgot to add the other one in the other side of her head, so it looks very awkward. They're Kitsune-mimi, though.

what's a Neko mimi?
^ THIS is kayos suffering from AVTD, After-Vacation-Traumatic-Disorder. I'm getting there as well, after spending the last few days enjoying myself at Disney ( not really ) and getting back home to start another semester full of bulls-. Ops.

Anyway, Mimi is japanese for Ear, and Neko means Cat, so Neko-mimi means Cat Ears. But like I said up there, Luna's a foxy.

And thanks, but yeah, like I said I just did that to test those pens, I wouldn't expect anything awesome to come out just yet.

Okay, now for some briefing and a word of advice: NEVER, NEVER go to Disney World around this time of the year. Nor in the summer, I assure you. Not only you'll not fully enjoy the 60-or-so bucks you paid to enter the Magic Kingdom, you'll get sunburns, corns and calluses from standing over 2 hours in line for each attraction, you'll also not be able to hit on the cute actress who plays Alice properly. Seriously.

Dude, that thing was PACKED. I assume way over 20 thousand people were inside Disney that day, and it was only one of the many parks they have. Here're a few examples.

http://www.kidoutenshi.net/random/DSCF0069.JPG
http://www.kidoutenshi.net/random/DSCF0049.JPG

(The one going "WTF'S GOIN ON GUYZ" there's my mom, btw.)
Oh, and also, I spent 45 minutes to buy myself a hamburger. But, besides that, everything was just great. I mean, it WAS my first time going there, so everything was new and an adventure, even finding those guys in absolute darkness in the middle of the freaking ending Christmas parade. It was great though. But dude, that Alice was something. I mean, I know this must be some sort of blasphemy in over 20 states, but what the hell, she was CUTE. Besides that, with that costume, she looked just like a real anime character. Bad thing I didn't have the chance to meet her face to face. I'd probably be arrested on the spot, but that's a different subject.

I also left the place with a memmorable pain on my back and terrible cramps on my lower part. One of the places I went, the line was so huge, and so well hidden from everyone, every corner was a surprise. "WHAT THE HELL, 100 MORE YARDS OF THIS SHI-?". I was sitting on whatever while trying not to seem too interested in a cute japanese girl with Minnie ears. (<- Cosplay complex?).

Anyway, that's that for this week. I got a piece in mind I really wanna finish, but it's gonna depend on a bunch of factors, including if I'll ever be able to sleep after drinking a Turbo, large BK Joe with no sugar. 24 ounces of pure, raw horsepower.

( Had to, otherwise I'd crash at 100 MPH on Turnpike <_< )
