Salt Levels Critical

Has anyone had any weird experiences with difficulty level in DW Gundam 3? I feel like the difficulty rating for levels is totally not consistent at all. I've had "flaming" suits that literally 2-shot me show up in 1 star difficulty levels with suits that die in 2 seconds and pose no threat whatsoever in the following level, the Big Zam in one of the earliest story missions was 1-shotting me and took forever to kill, while the Psyco Gundam a couple missions later died in under a minute and barely did any damage, etc. I'll admit it was pretty hilarious watching Setsuna's trans-am 00 Raiser get 2-shotted by "Soldier" in a fodder suit but overall I am just really confused.
On the same subject I'm pretty disappointed in how poorly I feel the story aspects were implemented this time. I'm not all that far in yet but this has been my impression so far. No Official Mode and the History Missions I have played so far are just the same random maps with specific characters thrown in and no objectives other than "defeat x". All the story in Story Mode has taken place in unvoiced cutscenes with the actual in-battle quotes seemingly being characters just yelling a random assortment of lines at each other. All the interesting team banter seems to be gone and the story cutscenes themselves are really short and don't really explain anything or contain any character interaction. Does this get better later on? I realize story is not really the point of DW games but I thought the first 2 DW Gundams did a really good job with it and it makes this one feel really generic in comparison. |

just got my Gundam Dynasty Warriors 3.
It's a good game, but I like the gameplay of the GDW2 better. The story here kinda...well so so. Iam just glad here the friendship relationship isn't that much of a problem like in 2.

PSP: New Giren's Ambition (Shin Giren no Yabou) - New Gameplay Images
http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2011/0...ren-no_08.html * More pix at the link I posted. The game looks pretty sweet!!! Graphics don't look that good, but they did try to make it PS3 quality-like...but it looks like really low resolution PS3 games, which it should since the PSP is on a small screen and it's like 480p at most...

By the way I'm a Gihren's Greed vet so I can give protips on the games for people that need help. My one recommendation would be to play on Very Easy or Easy. There's no shame, all it does is frankly balance the game out so you can actually manage. All it gives you are extra resources and a few bonus high end suits that can simply be destroyed to restore balance. Trust me that bonus cash is only useful for making the game fair IMO and will go VERY quickly. Gihren's Greed has never had good graphics. The emphasis is on the 4X style of gameplay and the depth it brings. Easily the best Gundam game franchise period, bar none, end of story when it comes to gameplay. Trust me though when I say that this looks far better than any other game in the franchise by a signfiicant margin. Most models in Axis No Kyoui V which preceeded this looks like they came out of the PSX era. Quote:

To give people who haven't played it sort of a chance to see a bit what it's like, I've decided to do a brief screenshot style playthrough (I apologize for the crappiness of my camera but I'll try to let the text do the talking) of a turn (turn 106 to be exact so it's a ways in) of Gihren's Greed: Threat of Axis for the PS2:
about 6 turns ago I finished up the One Year War and now I'm in 0083 fighting the Delaz Fleet as a section of part 2. As of the start of turn 106 the situation in space is looking a little grim Strategy Phase 106 Spoiler for Space situation:
Spoiler for A Problem:
Spoiler for Stalling and planning to reinforce:
Spoiler for Other key plans for reinforcement:
Combat Phase 106 Spoiler for Help arrives:
Strategy Phase 107 Spoiler for Future Plans:
Spoiler for The Situation as it stands:

Gundam The 3D Battle (3DS) Review on NTSC-UK
I really hope that this game does get released in europe. Too bad that it does not follows in the footsteps of sensen 0079 (first person view). As for a first (second ?) wave 3DS game it looks OK. |
