Nice try Shana but it isn't enough. Hisa manages to bring home another win for the Saki fanbase and kicks out the final non-Saki character. This also guarantees the Saki fanbase will end the year on a 27 match win streak. With 4 Saki characters left, they have 3 matches to decide who they want as the champion.

The dream dies tonight for all Shana fans and resistance faction voters with one final loss that caps Shana's long Saimoe career. It ends with not even a bang, but she keeps the honor of ascending to the Quarterfinals for her final chance at glory.
Well, time to pack up the leftover ammo and battle gear. The war is over with the Saki faction successfully completing their Sakimoe campaign for conquest this year. What's left is an internal struggle within the lone faction left standing, over which representative gets to claim the grand prize. On their end, they broke/set new records in every QF match this year. Time to begin planning for Saimoe 2013?

And welcome back. Our Hiro Kunikeda is at Kiyosumi High School where there are scenes of applause and cautious celebration. Hiro, what's going on over there?
Hiro: Well, they were actually expecting this result, so believe it or not, no one here is surprised by this performance of Hisa Takei. They knew that Shana was small potatoes and that she was as overrated a Saimoe participant as they come, so they expected this result, confirming her as the most overrated moekko in history. Hisa right now is already speaking with her constituents and Nodoka is also with her. Actually, the entire mahjong club from Kiyosumi is rallying around Hisa and Nodoka. They feel they have a good chance to make this an all-Kiyosumi Saimoe final, but the voters have to do the work. That's the scene here at a not rowdy, but nonetheless upbeat Kiyosumi High School. Back to you, Hachi. And there you have it. So, it's going to be Toki Onjouji vs. Nodoka Haramura in the first semifinal, while Kuro Matsumi takes on Hisa Takei in the second semifinal. The rankings for fifth through eighth are as follows. 5th Place: Shana 6th Place: Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere T-7th Place: Saki Miyanaga and Yuu Matsumi We have a tie for seventh place because Saki Miyanaga and Yuu Matsumi earned the same amount of losing votes. That does it for now here at the 2channel World headquarters in Tokyo. We'll be back here at approximately midnight tomorrow to preview the first semifinal between Toki and Nodoka which is our Match of the Round. Then, at 1:00 a.m., the Final before the Final takes place. Be sure to cast your vote at ast2012.saimoe.me. Goodnight and good morning for now. This is the 2012 Anime Saimoe Tournament on 2channel World.

Odds to Win...
Semifinal Predictions... All signs are pointing to a final showdown of the vanguards not named Subara and TeruTime.

Well, it's official: Saimoe 2012 is now officially the worst Saimoe ever (even worse than last year's tournament).
Thanks a lot, 2ch and Saki fans, for ruining the tournament for everyone who isn't a Saki fan. Here's hoping that 2ch will learn a huge lesson here and restructure the tournament so that way we won't get a repeat of the last two years.

Yay for Sakimoe! Gotta get some love seeing how ISML shuns it.
Not sure why people thought Shana was stronger than Hisa. Not once did Shana break 300 votes on her way to group H victory(granted, no one in Group H broke 300), unlike every other quarter-finalist. And she couldn't break it against Hisa. Hisa just looked objectively stronger based on past performance. Louise would have probably given her a much tougher time. Rooting for Hisa now (well, always have) in Sakimoe since I adore her. In honor of Sakimoe though, they should just skip semi-finals and do a mahjong-esque 4-way final. To be fair though, I have to wonder why the resistance gives up easily, even in last year's final with Mami being the favourite, I'd have jumped on the Kyouko bandwagon just to spite the PMMM fans (helps that I like Kyouko though). Toki still losing this year would be funny.
