Yes, it sounds very good on paper. But in practice, both in terms of fiction and life it doesn't work. Fiction-wise would make the story unexciting if death has no meaning. And life-wise any man wouldn't give a damn about winning a battle where he is not unique, unimportant or generally existing.

Well, the setup is already there. They can bring people back to life in the gantz world. The real qns is what is stopping them. If you ask me, death has pretty much lost its meaning once the reader finds out the gantz balls are human manufactured and can be controlled by humans. Plus, you don't even need to have clones. You can just keep recloning the same person over and over again, meaning your army would never ever fall below a certain number. Unless the aliens have some way to keep up with that, it's their loss.

And as for people not giving a damn about winning a battle where they're not important. You forget that they will probably die if they don't fight. It's not like they're fighting for an identity and not just survival. Of course, there will be people who break down and don't care about survival because they're having an identity crisis, but it seems like if you just clone the better gantz players, their will to survive seems much stronger than anything else.

That's all very nice on paper again and you would be right if the Gantz players were wise, smart, self-aware, and righteous. But they are nothing like that; the series presents them as selfish sons of bitches. The kind and gentle are the first to die leaving as bulk the cruel and heartless. May I remind you the Osaka team? They didn't give a rat's ass exactly because they knew they could be revived indefinitely. And they would sure don't care if they were told to go beat some aliens that threaten their world. That is why mass producing them would be boomerang. They would fight each other and threaten mankind themselves. Even if some of the copies were indeed more interested in protecting the world, how could you distinguish which one of them did it?

I'll counter your example of the osaka team with the tokyo team. I don't believe more clones of Katou or Kurono would be a bad thing in terms of fighting with aliens. Or even reika, izumi, sakura etc.

Well, Kurono is the only who has a double and it's not an easy subject to bring into normal conversation, especially since only a week or so has passed between the clone being made and the current chapters. It's not like you can just go 'hey, you know that chick which was in love with me? Turns out she made a clone of me to bang.' Plus, it's uncertain if the gantz team even met up during that 1 week

Plus, even though K2 knows he's a clone, he decides he still wants to protect everyone.

This manga is so annoying, more so than many others because when it's good it's awesome but when it's bad it's so dull and repetitive.

Still love it though obviously...

Standard practice since War of the Worlds to kidnap human survivors, it's just what alien invaders do, even when they have such superiority to start with. Or maybe their technology needs some human shaped batteries like in the Matrix

There has to be more to why the Aliens were capturing the humans. They wouldn't go through all that just to kill em...

Maybe they kill them then use their remains as parts for their suits? Or some such thing.

And come on, no one else was freaking out a little bit when Kei was running up that wall?

But now Kei, that Cherry kid, and others will want revenge no? Next chapter...

It will feel shitty for having no individuality and will turn to one another in minutes. Also, cloning the same elites means that those elites will have no reason to improve or try their best if they know their death will mean nothing.

I thought they were going to be disinfected or something not well you know killed.what the hell was the point of capturing humans then spay them with acid? arent the giant hammer robots and foot soldiers and alien dogs doing that isnt that what they are down there for? so why gather them bring them you your ship to kill them?cherry's main girl is dead =( poor girl.
