There's no need to comment upon Yellow Radios' tactics to have lured in two kings with one shot, since it's already been covered in countless previous posts.
However, the guy sounded pathetic to me freaking out when Black Lotus regained her senses and losing the tide of the battle in one swoop. He could have acted more composed to find another opening on Black Lotus's psyche to deal more psychological damage than reenacting the so tired charade about "you must feel guilty for doing that to our friend" cliché. This episode kinda makes Scarlet Rain pathetic as a King. Her first appearance has her demolished entire building and making a wasteland out of its neighbourhood. But in this episode, her attacks didn't do much damage other than killing random mooks, and the way she was almost 'disassembled' by these mooks were rather disappointing. I would expect Scarlet Rain to have something to cover up her weakness, but it seems she can be easily defeated by zerg rush tactics, or some highly skilled character who can dodge her fires, and once close in, end of line for her.
Black Lotus is absolutely badass. I like that Haru's misunderstand of sort kinda brought her back from her heroic BSOD

Scarlet Rain is the youngest of the King's, so it stands to reasons he isn't one of the strongest.
That said, I didn't think she was pathetic at all, she slew droves of Burst Linkers in single volleys with incredible ease, but the Yellow King brought that group specifically to hunt her down, hence the jamming and the melee/ranged groups. If it wasn't for the jamming, it is quite likely she would would have killed them all. Theoretically, any of the King's would fall under such tactics, being outnumbered is a big disadvantage.

Being a single colour King makes you the best at something but in return you get a huge weakness. Even the Yellow King, he has great illusions but once he saw Black Lotus heading for him he looked like he was about to shit himself. And Black Lotus too, she probably has great weakness.
It's all about finding it. |

When it came down to it, even the Yellow Radio (favoring indirect attacks) threw down pretty damn well with Black Lotus, who is specialized at offense. Scarlet Rain also isn't a King of Pure Color, so her strength/weaknesses aren't quite as clearly defined as Red Rider's would have been. From what I have heard, the chromatic colors are characterized by their specialties (range/melee/indirect), while the metallic colors are defined by their defense/weaknesses (immunity/vulnerability).

It just sorta feel weird to see a simple Zerg rush tactic is capable of bringing Scarlet Rain down. After all, episode 9 established that Scarlet Rain does have close combat defence when Haru tried to exploit her weakness.
Any idea how the King vs King battle will turn out? For example, if it's Blue Knight vs Scarlet Rain, extreme melee vs extreme long range, wouldn't Blue Knight be in total disadvantage? Any fight against the Green king will be weird though. He probably will just stand still till his opponent gives up?

Haru and his team got ambushed.
That Yellow Radio guy sure was pretty annoying. The flashback part was really interesting. What Black Lotus did was really cruel, no wonder she is still bothered by it. Yellow vs Red team. Things were looking really bad for Red team... Good thing Black Lotus got to her senses and saved the day. Really really nice action this time.

This episode is amazing thanks to the Nozomu Abe (who also did the Hailstorm Domination back episode 8, and probably Ash's wall climbing act back episode 2).
I would post this in a sakuga threads instead but they're ... pretty much dead. I hope the mods won't ding me too hard on this because spoilers to other series are pretty much forbidden (I'm actually not entirely sure the rules regarding written spoilers vs. linking spoilers), but I think he's a person definitely worth mentioning and knowing if you don't already; besides, sakuga videos are always fun to watch too so ... Spoiler for Various spoilers for other series (especially Madoka and Railgun):

I don't think he is dead. He will probably run like a yellow chicken when he revives. @Kunagisa Spoilers or comments from other series should be put under spoiler tags.

Damn, best episode yet.
Everyone got to be boss in this episode. Too bad Chrome Disaster interrupted the fight between BL & YR. I like Scarlett Rain now, before I was indifferent towards her. Last edited by The Butcher; 2012-06-25 at 16:03. |

I want to remind novel readers that, if you are going to answer questions about what happened in the anime using novel knowledge, you must use spoiler tags. Please see the Spoiler Policy and specifically this point:

This latest episode was really great. It was awesome to get a wall-to-wall flashy action-fest after a few episodes that built up really nicely to it.
And I felt that all the named characters were handled well in this, and given good chances to look cool, effective, powerful, and/or threatening. It also helped that the cannon fodder army of the day was actually somewhat competent! The best moments of the episode were definitely saved for Silver Crow and Black Lotus, though, and they certainly delivered! Very intense scenes that were a joy to watch.
