Mama Kominami gave me Marika vibes. The facial features are reminiscent of her, and the playful personality with showing the tongue are also Marika like.

Doubt that Asumi has to rely on a Plan B now, but it would be an intersting development. Most likely everything will be resolved though.

Or this third manga would be alternate universe of in which she never met her Yuiga who she married in canon?

surprisingly, i like Senpai arc way more than i initially thought, the whole issues of her was very real, the author really surprise me with this, every single heroine arc so far are actually distinctly different in their own way with different serious concern, Senpai case is particularly harsh though, since her concern was not something that can be resolved by her effort, and see that even if she managed to reach the med school, her dream might still won't come true

Honestly, I think the real problem Rizu got is that every girl got a more interesting and serious cause for their studies than she does. Fumino has the whole mama asteroid, Uruka her swim career abroad, Sensei is all about her own past failures as a talented iceskater and her dream of being a teacher and Senpai is all about her father and succeed his clinic. And Rizu is just "I wanna play boardgames better". That's weak af.

Now Senpai here got all the stuff going for a good short arc that will make us both appreciate her and Nariyuki. She got her father giving up on the clinic before her times, her studies becoming meaningless due that decision and a cheeky, perverted kouhai who came to her side when she was feeling lonely and sad and ofc all that happened while raining cause cliches gotta live. And obviously it had to end with an easy to misunderstand "perverted" statement.^^
So this is a good start to a promising arc to give Senpai some more spotlight, even if she is unlikely to win the Nariyuki bowl.

I liked this chapter, but unfortunately, Tsutsui already set up a fanservice event to kill the mood. And it doesn't matter if Nariyuki just wants to cheer Senpai up or anything like that. Her situation seems to lean in the direction of going with her mother, or her mother giving her some sort of helping hand.
