Finally, the upcoming next chapters. We will finally see Harutora's badassness during his fight with Shaver (which unfortunately had been messed up by the anime version of it)

Well, just finished this novel. I decided I'll check out the unfinished portion whenever Xersax gets done with it.

Anyhow, pretty spectacular and very intense arc through and through especially with the obvious highlight being Ohtomo and D's bout. The whole fight was even more impressive in this version, however the gap of strength between the two also much more apparent. In fact D is pretty much just broken.

I wasn't expecting that Kakugyouki could easily cancel out magic just with a bit of his aura alone. And that attack came from same person who gave Amami a quite heap of trouble...

On the other hand, Doman leisurely looked at the altar.

"......Hmm. The Tsuchimikado altar? Even this old man doesn't understand it well."

He spoke while stroking his chin.

"Never mind the lions at the entrance, it's a surprise that the 'predecessor' is out here. I see. I haven't considered everything...... The Onmyou Academy, hm......"

Strong winds whipped through the roof, and hence Doman's muttering was choppy and unclear. They could only faintly feel that even if Harutora and Doman were looking at the same scene, there was a huge difference in what they could see.

The altar for Tsuchimikado family rite, the Taizan Fukun Ritual, hidden on the roof of the Onmyou Academy building. What kind of scene did this altar map out in Doman's eyes?

Seems like Yakou may not have just place the Heavenly Altar here for TF ritual...

We'll hopefully get the answers to that in future novels anyway what's been happening with the translations chapter 4 isn't even done yet how depressing I wanna read vol 10 and 11 but it's gonna be a while before they are translated :/

I think the novel mentions that D is probably the stronger of the two in terms of pure spiritual power and experience. Which is especially more likely given that fact he is a Ara-Mitama, the only known Phase 5 spiritual disaster. Through even then D's rather special in that regard too because he still has a sense of "self". Yakou on the otherhand was probably more talented, with better ingenuity and had a greater understand of the nature magic in general.

Funny enough, if Harutora's reaction to seeing Imperial Onmyoudou spells play out in the climax of vol 6 and the near subsequent obsession/ambition that developed after it is anything to go by, Yakou probably wasn't not too different than D in his views towards sorcery.

After the spiritual disaster terrorist attack two years ago, the Twin-Horned Syndicate had split into two groups overall. One was Makihara's side, the Yakou supporters within the Onmyou Agency. The other was led by Mutobe, the previous Lingering Spirit Division members who had escaped from the Mystical Investigators' arrests. The former was hidden in plain sight, hiding their positions on the surface, while the latter mixed with civilians and other Yakou fanatics, lurking in the magic community. The one responsible for communicating between these two groups was the individual nicknamed the 'contact'.

So I guess essentially only Takiko's faction is left? Or is it just Takiko, Mutobe and Shidou acting on their own?

3 and a half more chapter before I finally caught up with the Light Novels, it's about time

Another great chapter. Azano's seriously good at doing intense action scenes while balancing the more character driven heavy SoL stuff. I feel it certainly stems from his prior experiences and improvements are a writer during his earlier series. Because of that he is able to apply those refinements in these books, his developed style (at least as much as it can be gleamed through the translation) definitely shows he's one of veterans in this industry opposed to the vast majority. Furthermore his treatment of secondary characters while propping up the main ones is pretty good compared to the norm. Every character ends contributing to any given situation in one way or another.

Gotta to say though, poor Kyouko.

You can definitely feel the moment when her heartbreaks. She at least seemed somewhat prepared for this since she had grown quite anxious and suspicious around Natsume ever since Vol 6.

Just finished marathoning the anime and reading all the spoilers. It got chopped up a lot, but it was worth it to get all nine volumes.

I'm still halfway volume 7 but it seems the final chapter translation has been released. The translator is really fast though its kind of scary but still, im very gratefull.
