I consider Dengeki perfectly deserving of an arcade fighter though :v

Also, loketest stream is up now: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/電撃文庫-f..._medium=social . Nobody is actually playing yet, with only demo games being seen, but they'll be there eventually!

When the only thing you publish is light novels, which don't exactly have the greatest of action series, I'd have to disagree.

I won't be getting the game myself but I'll probably still follow it anyway and watch some matches here and there online after it's released. After all while I don't like light novels I do like arcade fighters.

Good set of matches so far. Misaka looking pretty boss, but could use more assist usage though.

Shizuo's super (one of them, anyway) is insane! Does quite a bit of damage even if you block it, and the final part might be unblockable?

Oh, it seems you can counter supers.

How about Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, or any novel brand that is celebrating their anniversary.

Still can't watch the live stream because of my connection.

I had to look up what that was, and after doing so I'd say hell no. That'd be even worse than the current choice.

Here's are some basic facts from what I've seen

Shana is ridiculously strong, she has a strong projectile attack, good range overall and a crazy aerial combo.
Leafa's assist can lift up the opponent, making it great for combos. Naturally, it works best with Shana, but really, anyone can make good use of her (Goes well with Kuroyukihime too)
Touma can be pretty good for defense, it seems (He fully blocks Kuroyukihime's starburst stream! And it's a super! And he says THE line while doing it!)
Kirino has a move with long range, looks like it could be pretty annoying if used well (and she says her usual tsun lines while using it)
One of Kirino's supers involves having a crane machine falling on the opponent and then have her pick them up.
Mikoto's moveset includes her famous kick to the vending machine, and it's very strong.
Supers bar fills automatically, but it fills faster by performing attacks.

Can't really provide more details since fighting games aren't my forte, but it looks pretty fun.

This makes the famous Daigo parry look like mere child's play. "Shrugs shoulders" Only Touma could pull off something like this.

This is why Touma is in a league of his own.

Didn't he just say he didn't like light novels though? which I can't fathom, but to each his own. I feel the opposite and think Dengeki Bunko's stuff is perfect for fighters.

Here's a Youtube playlist of past matches from the stream for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to watch them now or later, they could be taken down sooner or later.

Your point is really moot in this thread. This game is obviously targeted towards Dengeki fanbase to milk us dry......
It's not about what is deserving or what makes better games, it's about where the money is.

Wait... so you can pair the characters up as you like? I thought they would be inseparable...

Things I noticed from the stream:

Shana has :
- Can Airdash
-A hyper armour dashing attack, where she covers herself in flames and dashes forward.
-A command grab special, has 2 parts, 1st is a sweeping fire attack and it's range can be adjusted depending on button used, 2nd part is the grab where Shana grabs with a arm made of fire and ignites the opponent.
-A fullscreen fireball that travels very fast, EX version does multiple hits.

Kuroyukihime:
-Works kind of like a stand character from jojo, cept there isn't stand on and off functions, pretty much most of her normals will call her BB avatar Black lotus to attack.
-Her special move, Death by embracing is a short range grab move that can be blocked and has a HUGE recovery.
-Has various modes (Mode red,Mode blue, Mode green were shown) that changes the properties of her Normals and specials. For example, Mode red turns one of her specials from a short range stab move that knocksdown into a full screen range attack. (Most likely mode green increases defense, while Mode blue increases damage). All these mode changes can be cancelled into, making for a great combo extender.
-Her 2nd Special Starburst Stream has slight invincibility on startup, and has a huge hitbox, pretty easy to hit with.

Wilhelmina (Assist):
Tracks the enemy, can OTG.

Celty (assist):
OTGs the enemy on 2nd part of her attack.

Haruyuki (Assist):
Nobody likes him, never was used.

Interview explaining several decisions in the game:

http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/00...9/index-2.html

"Kamijou Touma is a popular character, but it's hard to make him a playable character, as he is a character who can only bounce back (or reject) attacks. He is a prime example of how you can still include the character in the game, but having him as a support."

Getting a side the choice of word that Tera-D used (跳ね返す usually means reflect/come back/bounce back more than reject), I don't buy the reason that Touma isn't playable. Yes, he might seem boring as he only bunch and cancel attacks, but they seem to forget that he could be made into a character like Captain Commando in MvC2. Using support characters as part of his special attacks. Just look at all the people in the Kamijou Group. Even with the core members like Index, Railgun, Itsuwa, Sisters, Himegami and Orsola, you have enough attacks. That not even including the other characters that would help out, or be reasonable to help out.

^ Or how Nick Fury is playable in one of the Marvel games... despite every other characters in the roster apart from him having superpowers from the most common superstrength to... well if you know what I mean.

Besides, from the gameplays, I noticed that Touma is significantly harder to use as an assist - this is also prevalent in the Index fighting game for the PSP, where he is mostly useful as a shield against esper/magic attacks, and his second assist is basically him coming in to punch the opponent.

They seem to implement him as a support in a similar way here, where he stands with his right arm extended out to intercept attacks - but I don't really understand what happens after he intercepts attacks... did he kinda knock them away with a white flash or something?

I get the feeling that this "man among men" assist will possibly get the nerf hammer. I hope it doesn't get to that, but since the assist seems so popular and not to mention godly, you may never know.

The assist looks pretty situational by the looks of it. If a projectile attack were to hit him it would just block it, but if people were to strike him during the active phase of the assist they'd be blown back, like a counter move. The white flash is just used as a means to show where the effect of the move is, and how successful it is if the assist counters the move in question.

For example: White flash = The source and AoE of the assist and how it can be "set off" by certain conditions.
