It's probably just me but from the look of that new trailer for XIII-2, the game doesn't look nearly as polished as XIII (graphic wise). It looks blurry and washed out.
Probably because it's under development? Not that I mind graphics very much when they can bring good gameplay mechanics.

Yeah, I liked X-2 as well. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that I was forced to watch all the cut-scenes without skipping to get 100% completion. Don't know why people complained about X-2 at all. I just wish I wasn't locked out of game content for not buying the Japanese edition.

Still, I am almost giving up the FF franchise these days... They are starting to make games that are a little too different to what I wanted when I first played FFV. That, and they seem to have trouble releasing products that are polished and full-featured like they used to. XII was where I got discouraged; I liked where it got started, but mid-way I realised too much of the game felt incomplete.

I'm still waiting for the DS remake for that that I recall them mentioning a long time ago. They made III and IV, but I guess they decided to stop before doing V. Sucks too, because it looks like it has the best job system outside of Tactics [Advance]. I love me some quality job system.

I liked XII until the story just randomly turned limp.

I'm definitely going to pick this game up even if the majority of gamers hated it. In addition, we get to play as serah this time and I like the new male protagonist noel (definitely looks like the male fang if you ask me...) I just expect that he's isn't as emo as hope and snow...

Well, my complain about X-2 is about the story actually. X ending was bittersweet and fine on its own, they don't need to make a sequel out of it and end up making the plot progression looks forced. No complain about the battle system though, although personally I like having multiple unique character like VI more than few character with lot of customization like VII or V(and X-2)

A Pulseworker on the team?

Does this mean there will be a pokemon like system this time around?

^ Yes I guess it's something like that (although it reminds me a lot of tales of symphonia: dotnw recruiting system...) and this is only my speculation but in addition, I think it's possible for them to evolve further into a bigger and probably more badass looking monster in your party.

Probably just a temporary member just like NORA back in XIII

Not a bad little teaser trailer. Should be interesting having Serah in the party rather than just an important person to other characters.

Still keeping my eyes open during these to try and piece some more information out of it. This is one time on the Final Fantasy series where I wanted a sequel. Glad we got it .

Well there's more to a game than the battle system . Though I never had any issue with the battle system in that game, it was all story from my perspective.

More like MegaTen/Persona, recruit enemies depending on their mood

I highly suggest trying out FFI and FFII if you got a PSP or GBA, they are surprisingly good, with FFII having the highest degree of freedom in customizing your characters and FFI having the BEST bonus boss ever (see Chronodia, very hard to kill, without having 50 million HP...).

it is intriguing how the new trailer keeps showing events happening around a new male character and using him to run around places. i'm certainly up for a male protagonist this time around if it happens and maybe hooking up with lightning on the way

It'd be really awkward.

*be the new, pretty boy atypical main character of JPRG story*

*has a crush on the petite, cute girl*

"By the way, I'm married to that monster huge guy over there."

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

*never mind, her sister is sparking hotter.*

"You're too old for me." ( I hope, pun intended. )

The teaser looked pretty good IMO. It's obviously it's too short to tell much from, but it does seems like the game will be less linear this time around. I'm more curious about the changes to the battle system than anything else right now.

Looking at the newly released screens, I'm pretty sure it's just the video. The game looks as good FFXIII did.

Sadly most Japanese devs having been struggling a lot this gen on HD consoles due managing infrastructure that just doesn't work nowadays like they did in the SNES/PS/PS2 eras, resulting long development cycles, miscommunication and what not. That said these things are being worked on and there's still solid efforts coming out .

FF Type-0 is looking to be very ambitious, while still keeping many of the traditional aspects series.

Western release unfortunately looks to be somewhat murky at the moment.

XIII was the first FF I had purchased since IX. I am looking forward to XIII-2 simply because it's the continuation of what became one of my favorite FF games. Whether it's polished or not, I'll still buy it, most likely...
