Sena made some little screw-ups while him and Miho were dating, and in Sena's perfectionist mind, they added up over-time and made him feel unworthy of being Miho's boyfriend/lover. But here's the Catch-22 - If Sena is unworthy of being Miho's boyfriend, then he's certainly unworthy of dumping her if he's already dating her. So instead of formally ending it, Sena just lets his relationship with Miho flicker away. But from Miho's perspective, this is a guy that's just lost interest in her and doesn't have the decency/guts to properly end it. Miho feels like she's been dumped. In Miho's mind, this represents a personal failure in her life, the only noticeable one she's had. Hence, Sena becomes a "stain" on her otherwise perfect life, as she sees it. I don't think Miho was joking when she said that she wanted her and Sena to get back together so she could dump him this time in order to remove the stain. Sena calling that "pointless" made Miho more self-aware of her pettiness here, which makes her feel less truly perfect, which enrages her more. So she throws the drink at him, and stains his suit just like he stained her perfect life (as she sees it). But Sena revealing the truth to Miho, along with the reaffirming apologies, is tremendously rewarding to Miho, so much so that her reactions to it are almost orgasmic. Because this, in her mind, restores her deeply desired perfection. Sena's string of apologies makes it clear to Miho that he's telling the truth - He really did feel unworthy of her, and that really is why he let it end the way he did. So anger towards Sena likely morphs into a mix of love and sympathy. Honestly, I found Episode 8 really good. An excellent case study in the pros and cons of perfectionism, particularly in the area of romance. The action scenes were also a lot of fun, nicely reminding me some of Tiger and Bunny. And while I don't dislike Miho or Sena, I'm kinda glad they were both humbled some in this episode. In fact, it's probably better for both of them that this happened. Too much perfectionism can lead to a certain lost of humanity. In any event, I'm looking forward to Logos kicking it into high gear next episode!

Episode 9:
Wow Doumoto (aka Fisherman) really tried to get his revenge this episode. Not that it really worked in the end with Unit 8's intervention. I kinda like this episode since it ties in the conflicts that the police units have to deal with on a daily basis. Action was alright, it showed more of what Wears can really do. I got a feeling that Logos will strike again soon. Also not sure yet what the governor's next move will be but he is definitely angry with Unit 8. (I bet he has some sort of indirect connection with it, Logos that is.).

Interview with the main series writer (Japanese):
https://akiba-souken.com/article/26191/ I skimmed through it, and here is what I found interesting: - The main inspirations were Dekaranger, Armored Police Metal Jack and Patlabor; - Funasaka and Rin's role were reversed from the original concept; - Asami was created to make the newbie character to whom the world can be explained (and then subvert it at the same time); - Madoka's type of character was a bit in flux until the fifth episode. There were a few ideas regarding her that were being tossed around; - Says Kyoukai isn't "just a mechanic"; - The series was first planned as 1-cour but they felt they wouldn't be able to put in everything they wanted, so they opted for 2-cour; - Seems to imply (but it's my guess, and I may have read it wrong) that the second cour will be less episodic and more of a complete story. |

I'm glad that Dog got his comeuppance. Once he wakes up he better serve time for murder.
So the class president is Bird and pretending to be a girl. Getting close to the sister is to possibly make her his hostage if things go south or him. The governor is indirectly connected to Logos. Now that he knows about them he is a full accomplice. he and his assistant should go to prison. Logos could be bigger than just Mythos, Bird and Dog. Their cell structure is reminiscent of real life terrorists. |

whatever the hell Dog was doing is childish as fuck, he had it coming, its his own hubris, its sort of a miracle that Logos still exists when he's still around in their ranks,
also the justice system is crap as well as even the police can't do anything without getting approved by equally irresponsible higher ups, they are asking for more harm & damage there than good. |

Episode 9:
Well, Doc got served royally that Unit 8 put him out of misery, although it seems that Doc was in a coma after freezing himself. Meanwhile, seems that Hinata's friend Tomoki Hachijou is confirmed to be none other than Bird. Not a good idea for Hinata-chan! Now then, when will Inagi-kun revealed Governor Terao's corruption cases? Seems that having him would be a bane towards Unit 8. |

It was nice to see Rin suit up. She's pretty much a fragile speedster. She can run circles around her opponents, but can't really take heavy hits.
Dog got what was coming to him. As expected, the student council president is with Logos, which means Rin's sister may be in danger.

Episode 10:
The Logos leader huh? Creepy dude. I find the way that he "resigned" himself a really odd move. Considering that the series was looking to push them as the main antagonists...it felt even more weird. Eh, idk how I feel about this episode. Felt like it's setting up for the final two episodes of the first half of this show but I'm not feeling much about it. The timing of the "earthquake" felt especially strange to me as it seems to be planned by that one other guy. (lol, I forget his name again).

Episode 10:
Looks like Bird or Tomoki surrendering to the police was a ploy after all, in time for Mythos to black-out Japan and control it! Speaking of Mythos, I'm curious to see his backstory especially when he's connected to a cult. Meanwhile, looks like Unit 8 will have to act fast even though they got disbanded! |

Well Bird giving up is a ruse to disband Unit 8 as higher ups short shortsightedly thought there are no need for them. ACTIVE Project being an international trend with treaty conventions and all Japan is backwards in disbanding their most experienced team and leaving it only for the military.
Bird is an asshole for setting up Hinata, making her suffer for fun. As for Mythos he is insane. His backstory involves a cult and his sister whom he lost. He made replacement families with different sisters and an AI. He goes out to control the government network to rule Japan. Stupid idiot while you control system it does not mean to control people. But his real goal is to destroy the lives of people which shows his insanity. Oh I have a feeling the real Emily isn't dead and we have been seeing her the entire time. Just that she doesn't remember who she was. |
