I just wonder why she bothered with Plan A at all. Not a lot of added value in there compared to Plan B.
And stealing the sword would be exactly like stealing the staff. Some way to keep Anos from his triumph and start rumors about him. Sure, she had a more personal reason there, but she hardly needed one. (And it showed she'd progressed to the point of realizing Ray wouldn't be assured to win.) |

Again, I don't think this one was as "planned", and the second method almost certainly wasn't. After all, it goes completely against the plans that'd been laid out before. At this point she was just mad and wanted to humiliate him with a forfeiture. Her previous attempts to deceive his mom went well and, again, she sees hybrids as stupid inferiors who she can easily lead around with empty words. So she went with the same trick as before, empty words to easily get the sword. As a bonus, it'd be an even greater embarrassment to him to know that his mother had willingly handed the sword over.

The imposter was strong enough to defeat all of Anos' close servants, with the most recent one remembering that he was trying to get away from the imposter. Also, the imposter named himself as Avos Dilhevia.
I have 2 possible theories. One, the imposter might be the residual body that was left when Anos sacrificed himself to build the wall between the realms. Since he had so much power, his body itself might have remained behind and caused havoc after his "death". The other theory is that it was the hero. The hero has been introduced early on and again mentioned a few episodes back, yet we haven't seen him in the present time. He will eventually show up, so it is possible he might be the imposter. He is probably the only one in the past at Anos' level. Usually, in these types of stories, if the Demon King is good, then the Hero would be bad, so that is another reason to believe the Hero is pulling the strings.

I could see it being the hero possibly, manipulating the demons' culture to make them value bloodline rather than power and thus leading their culture to a gradual decline while also making it more difficult for Anos when he came back. That said, it seems somewhat unlikely given what his servant said while under someone's control. Recall he rebuked him for running from battle 2000 years ago. This not only indicates that the individual was around back then, but that the individual, who refers to Avos as his master, is disgusted by Anos' choice to end the war. I'd say it's most likely that Avos is a royal who believed that the demons could have conquered all their enemies, and either is himself a bloodline supremacist or sought to use this sentiment to control them. At the very least the servants he sent to take over Anos' servants harbor such sentiments.

Wasn't Misha created as a vessel for Avos to revive into? Avos = female? So, Avos won't be able to manifest until a suitable vessel is available? |

I think they've used male pronouns to describe Avos but I did think they were female the first time their name came up.

So Melhiel was the owl this whole time? Can all of Anso' acolytes transform into cute animals? It was kind of surreal hearing Sayuri Yahagi turning into Hochu Otsuka .
The best of friends/rivals can come up with plans completely on the fly while also engaging in deadly combat . There was something surreal yet hilarious by seeing Anos' arm just flying on it's own like an attack drone. That's so Anos . Nothing more sweet than a mother's love for her son transforming her into a cool sword for her son to swing around and help Anos give Melheis the punishment he was asking for . I honestly thought Melheis was in on it the whole time, but he was brainwashed after his last meeting with Anos. Did that masked guy prevent Anos from freeing the other two Emperors? Is that Avos or someone carrying out their will and making sure Anos doesn't make more headway in unraveling the conspiracy? The Opening definitely indicates they'll be a formidable antagonist . Anos not only got to give a heartfelt shout-out to his dad for his hard work, but in doing so helped save Lay's mom. I'd say that's killing two birds with one heartwarming stone . Good news, Lay's mom lives! So now Lay can be Anos' buddy/rival without any reservation . So Sasha was preparing all this time...to be the one who hands Anos the prize and commendation for winning. I was actually kind of expecting it would be something a little more plot relevant, but she only did it because she knew he'd win and she'd get to do it. And considering we got to see her look stunning in that dress and with her hair done up all fancy, I can't say it wasn't worth it in that respect . And she got to kiss him again, which of course she claims was just part of the job. Sure Sasha . "Hero Academy?" I guess we're finally going to learn about what happened to Kanon and maybe meet some new characters .

I wasn't at all surprised that the spell Anos crafted to separate the worlds didn't work on him. Right at the start he said Origin magic comes from him and therefore can't hurt him.
I kind of doubt that shadowy figure is Avos. The last Emperor they fought was trying to create a worthy vessel for Avos to return into. So it seems more likely that's either one of his subordinates who's working behind the scenes to resurrect his lord and destroy his main enemy, or at most it could be some sort of temporary body prepared for Avos until a suitable vessel is found/made. Heck, if that's the case we could even wind up with Avos trying to take Anos' body for his own. Still, rather amusing to suddenly spring on us that, all this time, Anos had only had 10% of his true power. I wonder if he really reawakened all of it in this fight, or just another 10% or something. I'm betting on the latter, as it gives an excuse to make him even more OP later. |

Explanation time!
Sources are basically like Saiyajin. When they're on the verge of being destroyed, or pushed to their limit, they become stronger. Here, in Anos' case, being pushed to its limit, instead of just becoming stronger his source got back to its full power. That was the skipped explanation for this part. Here is one with more details, but because it's an explanation that comes later, I'll use spoilers. Spoiler for Anos' Source of Destruction:

I get the feeling that this unknown opponent (be Avos, or anyone else) might be the Hero of the past who is still alive even after thousands of years probably because of his unique Root/Origin.
Because based on the story so far, i think only the Hero is capable or allowed to be on par with the Demon King as per the Natural Law of that World. That's also why the Hero had been giving such an unique Root/Origin as well, which even the Demon King can't destroy, thus allowing the Hero to be eventually be on par with the Demon King, because he couldn't kill him (and considering that the Hero still wasn't on-par in strength against the Demon King in the past, i guess if we consider him to be still alive, he might be on par with him by now).

These 7 emperors are turning out to be pushovers, no idea if that masked guy is just that powerful, or these old men are just weak. Those 2 guys aren't even worth Anos' time to resurrect Yeah, it took Sasha around 3 episodes to have her hairstyle changed Calling it now. That masked dude is another Anos, that's why he's hiding his face, and while the current Anos is the real one they made another one with his old memories or something, just a guess though

Anos could only use 10% of his power this entire time and yet still easily stomped everyone in his path, that's hilarious. Now that he's recovered his full strength, I wonder if his allies will ever get the opportunity to be useful anymore.
Masked man being the hero is a strong possibility, but if he is, why use such roundabout methods? The pay off for Sasha's absence was not bad, actually. Got to see her in a dress and with a different hairstyle.
