I enjoyed episode 2 a lot more than the first. I too feel the zapping gag is overstaying its welcome, but the rest of the jokes were great. Loved the way Hilda introduced herself to Oga's family. I didn't expect them to react so well to this news

Sawashiro Miyuki is so amazing as Baby Beel. She's making him adorable.

Who is this Aoi that everyone keeps talking about that has not yet appeared in the anime?

The anime is quite funny so far and seems to have potential for greater things later on. I guess I will have to get used to the baby's clothing situation, but that is a cultural thing. I can understand how many people will become annoyed with it after some time.

Actually, I was expecting the baby to get a really cool outfit at some point to fit his title as demon lord, but as someone mentioned earlier, it is not going to happen.

As you probably already have guessed, a very popular character who won't appear for a little while yet. You'll know for sure when she does.

Speak of the devil, the subs for the OVA just came out, and Aoi was in it. She looks like a great addition to what probably will be his team of fighters. This show kind of reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho and a little of Tenjou Tenge.

Although I do not know what events will come, I do hope that they minimize the very common tournament theme that is so prevalent in many shounen stories (Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball and Dragonball Z, Tenjou Tenge, History's Strongest Disciple, Air Gear, Ikki Tousen, etc.). It is overused and would be refreshing to show something different. Naruto managed to limit itself to one tournament, which is good. Bleach avoided altogether, and One Piece avoided that format as well.

The zapping may have stopped in the manga at this point, but I'm not convinced it'll stop in the anime. I fear that the animators may think the zapping is too easy a gag to let go of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the zapping returns for a filler episode or worse arc.

Anyway I watched the OVA, which is rather spoilerish on upcoming events (I assuming it was compilation on the first 10 manga chapters or something) and Aoi looks interesting.

Saw the OVA. I thought that Aoi was boring. I prefer Hilda.

Well, the OVA barely showed Aoi at all, and sort of truncated everything (there wasn't even a real fight with her). I wouldn't say she's extraordinarily interesting, but love interest characters are always popular for whatever reason. She's also sort of a serious character which makes comedy around her funnier by contrast.

The whole point of this episode was to show the effect of Baby Beel's crying, and that's why it was used so much. The last scene has Oga keeping him under control, so that's enough to believe that those scenes will stop now. We'll still get a few here and there, though no way near as much as this weeks episode.

The last scene has him failing to keep Beel's crying under control. After succeeding in the second to last scene. His failure to control it was the punchline of the episode.

I guess it's a bit late now to say, though if anime only viewers don't want to be spoiled on any of the future material, stay away from the OVA. It's basically a teaser of the manga, animating many key scenes.

I hope that tree scene doesn't make it into the TV series though. Although I suppose I can see why it might.

I don't really mind for naked Baby but some clothes will be not so bad.
