On the firepower discussion I'm thinking old school, Dirty Harry-style .44 magnum for Fate. Cliche, but when you want to scare the bejezus out of your target its a hard handgun to beat.

I also hearby request that Nanoha get her hands on either the metalstorm weapon or the automatic grenade launcher. It would be a crime for that much hilarity to not ensue.

MAINTENANCE

After intial wake up, Nanoha Takamachi should be a fully functioning and self-maintaning companion, but it has been noted in the past that this particular companion has a self destructive tendency to overwork itself, especially when she deploys her high powered beam weaponry

To correct this, please use the DA/5 Limiter bit, (not included) that can be installed on her device. This should prevent dangerous behaviour up till a certain point. This can be adjusted as needed to restrict her use of high powered beam weaponry

In the event that damage does occur to her, most commonly from use of high powered beam weaponry, simply place her in bed for approximately 24 hours. Her self-repair function should ensure that no lasting damage is done. This should be followed up with excessive disapproval of her actions in order to teach her not to overwork herself. Getting other companions to assist you in telling her this can help drill the message in.

Nanoha, like most companions, enjoys hot baths, healthy meals and regular exercise, and providing her with facilities for both is a very simple but effective way to increase her longevity and make her (hopefully) more amiable.

Companions C/03 Yuuno Scyra and C/w2 Shamal should be ideal companions for helping you to protect ad maintain/or repair Nanoha should she get into trouble, so adding them to your companion collection is advised if you wish to extend Nanoha's potential operational lifespan.

Addendum: Nanoha Takamachi has a stubborn streak a mile wide, so it may take a while before she ceases to perform self-destructive and unreasonably common use of high powered beam weaponry. Please attempt to teach Nanoha, as this is not a flaw in her personality, but a (mildly disturbing) quirk.
In the recent past, other companions, such as C/02 Fate Testarossa, the Wolkenritter and Numbers series of companion, may interact in ways damaging to your local environment and anyone near them. Crack shorts are fun because it's easy to identify them as crack shorts. Such joke in semi-serious tone could easily be taken as NOT joke because there OVER9000!!!! people who speak that bull in serious tone and really think so...

"Where...am I?" she spoke aloud as if to confirm her own consciousness She spun around several times to see if there was something, someone, anything that could tell her where she was. "This is odd" she started to recap everything "I remember being in a battle with Vita-chan against some enemies...I remember my body starting to feel completely heavy so I wanted to end everything really fast." her mind began to fast forward to the events "and then..." she gasped "No way..." "Welcome..." a voice called out to her from behind. Nanoha spun around really fast and saw someone she recognized "Fate-chan..." The blond haired girl looked at Nanoha and smiled a little before taking a few steps forward "Fate-chan, what is going-" "Ah, there you are" another voice came from behind Nanoha once again. "That voice!" Nanoha stiffened before whirling around and looking at its owner "It cant be!" A tall woman with long Mauve hair began to walk towards them. Nanoha raised her guard and tried to protect the girl behind her. "Precia Testarossa..." she breathed Precia stopped about 3 meters before looking at Nanoha. "It's been a while...White mage..." "You know my mother?" the girl behind her finally spoke "Dont worry, Fate-chan" she summoned Raising Heart in excellion mode "I won't let her hurt you again" "Fate?" The girl walked from behind Nanoha and in between the weapon and her mother "I'm sorry...but I am Alicia Testarossa, her daughter." "Alicia?" Nanoha slowly lowered her weapon "How? Why?" she began to get confused. Precia walked up to her daughter and pulled her back slightly, giving Nanoha some room to come to the realization that she must have already known. "Am I..." she looked up while her lips started to tremble "...dead?" she dropped to her knees "No...I cant be..." Alicia walked up to her and gave the trembling girl a hug "Its ok..." "No, its not ok!" Nanoha stood up suddenly, knocking Alicia back. "I'm sorry!" she quickly apologized. "Alicia..." Precia's voice came from behind them "I need to talk alone with this white mage." "Yes, mother" Alicia got up and patted Nanoha's head reassuringly one more time "Dont worry, you'll be ok" she smiled once more before running off "I cant be dead..." I went to forbidden research, I pushed myself day in and day out almost without rest, spent my entire income on research and development, spent many hours swallowing my own blood when my body started to break down, I broke many rules--even forced myself to be an outcast. Nanoha gasped as she saw the images of her flying to Fate's rescue, always taking the damage so that her partner wouldn't have to, always smiling and never showing her weakness even though her body was screaming in agony. She had just spent the day at the Tsukimura house and was about to leave when the offer stopped her. “Like I said, I’ll walk you to the bus stop.” Shinobu repeated her offer. “It is rather late, so I thought I would accompany you.” “If you are that concerned,” Noel cut in. “I could arrange for a car to take her home…” “That won’t be necessary.” Shinobu shooed away her maid. “I’m not being too much of a bother, am I Nanoha-chan?” “No, I don’t mind at all.” Nanoha shook her head. “Thank you for the offer, Shinobu-san.” Shinobu slipped on her shoes and the two made their way out of the mansion, Noel wishing them a safe trip. They walked in silence for a long period of time with Nanoha walking a few steps ahead of the older girl, occasionally taking looks over her shoulder. Nanoha had to admit to herself that she was a tad bit intimidated. Shinobu might have been her friend’s older sister, and her brother’s girlfriend, but Nanoha had to be in awe of her beauty. But once you find a special some one you can reveal it to, some one who accepts it, it feels like you can just fly away… But maybe I’m not cut out for that role…” The teen lowered her head. “It’s not that, Shinobu-san…” Nanoha said, rather surprised at seeing the older girl look so sad. “It’s just…” “… Nanoha-chan, can I ask you something?” Nanoha nodded. “Do you… Do you like me?” Nanoha certainly found herself being surprised a lot this evening. “Huh?” Was all she could think to say. “Sometimes I can’t help but wonder if it’s really ok for Kyouya and me to be together…” Shinobu admitted. “I really like your family and want to get along with them, but sometimes I wonder if you all like me as well.” She smiled sadly. “I’m sure Miyuki already doesn’t like me very much…” “Why would onee-chan not like you?” Nanoha inquired, unable to think of any possible reasons. “It’s… complicated.” Shinobu chuckled softly. “You could say we used to be rivals, but I’m the one who won in the end…” Nanoha studied her company a moment. Here she was thinking Shinobu was so pretty and mature, a person that Nanoha could never hope to reach, but it turns out they both had their share of problems and doubts. Maybe they weren’t so different after all. “Well,” Nanoha began. “Please don’t worry about that, Shinobu-san! I really like you a lot!” “Really?” The heiress perked up a little. “Yup!” Nanoha beamed at her. “You’re so cool and pretty, I hope I can become as beautiful as you when I get older!” “Um, thanks…” Shinobu blushed at the praise. “I know onee-chan feels the same way!” Nanoha went on. “She keeps saying how much she admires you, and she happily teases onii-chan about you all the time. Mom has always been grateful for your help around the store, and dad says the Midori-ya wouldn’t be doing as well as it is if it weren’t for you!” “Your mom and dad said that?” “Yup! And all of us can see how happy onii-chan has become since he started dating you, so we’re really thankful to you for that!” “So it’s ok if I keep dating Kyouya?” “Of course! I can’t wait for you two to get married! Then you and Suzuka-chan will be my sisters too!” “M-Married?” Shinobu chuckled awkwardly. “We haven’t thought that far yet…” “You don’t want to?” Nanoha tilted her head questionably. “No, I want to.” Shinobu assured her. “I love Kyouya a lot and I want very much to become part of your family.” “Hehe!” Nanoha grinned. “When you do maybe I’ll start calling you Shinobu-onee-chan!” “… I’d like that.” Shinobu couldn’t help but grin. After a pause she laughed in realisation. “Here I was trying to help you, and you ended up helping me instead! Some big sister I am.” “I’m glad I could help you.” Nanoha reverted to a soft smile. “But please don’t worry about me. It’s… It’s something I really can’t tell anyone else about right now. Maybe some day I will…” “All right then.” Shinobu held out her pinky finger. “Promise you’ll tell me about it some day?” “Ok!” Nanoha nodded and linked fingers with the older girl. “I promise!” “I’m still going to worry about you, though, so don’t push yourself too hard, ok?” “I understand, Shinobu-san. I won’t.” They unhooked their fingers and continued walking, a more pleasant air between them.
