lol, I'm actually thinking of Ex-Aid as a bit of a Kuuga, personalitywise. His drive to heal anyone no matter who it is is kinda reminiscent of Godai's idea that everyone should be smiling.

Wanting to help people would also make Ryuki, Den-O, Fourze, and Gaim like Kuuga. Most main Riders are nice.

The one Ex-Aid reminds me of the most, even though it's very recent, is Drive with just a hint of Hibiki sprinkled in.

I don't know, Emu's introductory scene gave me a very strong Godai vibe.

And it's not "wanting to help people". That's too broad. It's a very specific factor. Shinji was an idealistic idiot. Ryoutarou is.... Ryoutarou, Gentarou is just the bro'est of bros, and Kouta is.. well he's also a bro, to a lesser extent.

Godai's philosophy was essentially "it's nice being nice", which is why I say Eiji is the one that is the most similar.

Emu's is more specific. He was helped as a child so he now wants to pay it forward. That aligns him closer to Haruto (I'm my parents hope) and Shinnosuke (following his father's footsteps).

As for introductory scenes, while Drive to start with a dramatic flashback, we are properly introduced to Shinnosuke slacking off at his job (another thing in common between Drive and Ex-Aid, both protagonist have an actual profession) just like Emu.

I never denied the parallel between Godai and Eiji. But that one was also not brought up as an argument. However, his sheer optimism in wanting to save the day no matter what still gives me a strong Godai vibe.

You might bring up Gentarou, but to me he felt more like believing in people no matter what, rather than saving the day no matter what.

Finished devoring Amazons.

That sure was different from what I'd gotten used to. Really good stuff. I have no idea who to root for anymore in season 2, each main character has their good and bad sides.

I'd like to think that the Japanese entertainment industry are pretty decent at creating more mature scenarios that make you think. At least occasionally.

makes me wonder if they were trying to reference the original Amazon as they referred Amazon Alpha as 'the second one' Omega the third & Sigma the fourth, despite probably not set in the same universe as the gimmicks of the Riders were vastly different than the original (not using the belt as a Henshin device)

Watched Kamen Rider Heart x Mach yesterday. It was pretty good. I was a bit lost about the Mach storyline though, was that Reiko girl in the series? I forgot...

Anyone here think the secondary characters of Ex-Aid are kind of weak? Probably overshadowed by the Kamen Rider.

I like Lazer, but the others are rather boring, yeah. Brave in particular.

There aren't many secondary characters to begin with. There's like popi pipopopo.. I have no idea how to spell her name. And then there's Brave's father. That's about it.

Anybody know if Kouta will be back for the Heisei Generations movie? He's definitely doing the voice work, but he's the only rider that doesn't appear out of suit in the trailers. At least in the ones I've seen.
