This is a good summary of what we're thinking, I'd say: what is going on with Alicia here?

Also, is the difference between the timelines only that Fate didn't accept Nanoha's hand in the end of S1? If so... how is Alicia alive? And does that mean that she can be found somewhere in Fate's timeline? (...Sequel?!?!)

I can imagine that since The Garden Of Time was found in the original timeline, it means that Fate was with Precia all that time in the new timeline, so Precia could perfect her technics in that timeline and revive Alicia.

Of course, that would mean that Fate was either killed by Precia in the process or the Alicia that it's in the new timeline is either a new clone or the Fate of this timeline, after the process that turned her into Alicia was over.

I dropped AlternativeS awhile ago because I couldn't stomach Alts!Nanoha and her actions, so my memory on the exact premise is a little fuzzy, but if I remember correctly the idea is that instead of going with Nanoha, Fate chose to die with Precia, and somehow Jail took in Alicia.... or revived her from the dead... or something.

Personally, I'm against making any reference to specific currency units. In other words, it takes me out of the flow of the story and starts making me think about real-world, metastory things.

I have to agree with the others who said that there were ways to write around such things. For example, here's a chunk of relevant text from "Picture Perfect":

If I were writing the story, I might instead suggest something like:

The inconvenience of the distribution blockers would be offset by the ability to choose a specific individual model of the customer's choosing, so we'd make it the same price on a per-picture basis.”

(um...sorry for getting into the marketing discussion there at the end, but Nanoha did ask!)

I say dollars are fine. You can try to avoid money all together but there are going to be times you need to have money involved.

See the problem with Dezo's correction is...

That reminds me of the Malibu Stacy doll from the Simpsons, where you pull the cord and she says stuff like:

"Math is hard. Let's go shopping!"
"Don't ask me; I'm just a girl, teehee!"

Before anyone gets offended, the whole idea of the Malibu Stacy episode is to point out that girls are taught to be stupid in the Simpsons episode! (Lisa points out that it says sexist things, and goes on to create her own doll for girls to take inspiration from)

Well, Satashi did said that AlternativeS was complete. It just need a part in the middle that wasn't done yet but the ending was already done, so it could be this part.

There was a recall sometime ago for a Barbie doll, among others dolls that said things along those lines.

I remember that some of them had lines like. "I hate math", "Jhonny is dumb", "I love blood" and so on.

Hmm, looking at Nanoha character in all anime seasons and since owners of
franchise made her pure waifu type not interested in any kind of romance
wanting to be friends with everybody, this really seems like her, pure dense
idealistic girl who sees only good in people and would do anything for them in
the name of good case.

A bit refresh for a Nanoha character from most fics.
Fate as always being an ideal...

Thanks for another interesting fic Satashi.

Personally I would love to see a dark AU fic where Fate would become a drug
addict (maybe after treatment from Precia and death of her twin sister and
discovering she's a lesbian, then hated by friends and society, she would
start taking drugs to ease the pain) and Nanoha would be there to save her
after many failed tries (setting her up as a police woman working in narcotic
section serving under the boss Hayate with other Nanoha characters working in
police kind of jobs), but I would see it angsty and bloody, like Fate killing
her drug diller in self-defense or something setting her encounter with
officer Nanoha, fluff is killing me softly nowadays. Somehow I would love to
see a setting done in modern world with Nanoha cast being police
officers/detectives with Nanoha/Fate, Subaru/Teana, Yuuno/Hayate pairings to
spice things up. Dunno if someone would ever write something like that...

I've seen this in a couple of reviews people have posted. Is it normal to whine about what you don't like about the fandom or somebody else's stories in an author's comments, or are they as annoying to others as I find them?
