ep 4
So it turns out that the Parasite-killings of humans are at end highly out of instinct and than survival. Ultimately making them hostile to humanity so we can that particular issue off the table. However Tamiyo is peculiar case, because she is proof that the Parasites can deny these urges to an extent by developing a certain level emotional attachment. So things aren't that simple, but it's less there is much less of a moral in killing them off if they are design to be a natural enemy of mankind, moreso if the Parasites wholly embrace this idea.

So whats up with Murano? she cant be Parasyte because Migi cant sense her and she act normal but creepy as hel when she keep asking "are you Shinich?". i am guessing she is some kind of ultimate/mother Parasyte or somehow have control over the Parasyte.

Even though Shinichi's mother's death was pretty much spoiled in the opening, the beheading scene brutalized me all the same. Shinichi was orphaned in a single night by a parasite that lost its original host in what could only be described as a hilarious yet unfortunate accident.
I think this episode made it clear that the only person Shinichi's afraid of is himself. I think he's aware how easy it is to lose control and massacre every bully on the ground in a matter of seconds, but he chose to exercise self control and fought back using his own strength to the best of his ability. But what can Shinichi do, now that the final vestige of control in his life has been wrested away from his hands by an alien that took over his mother? This is the real test; will he still stick to his principles or will he give in to his hatred and just let his hand take over and kill anything that gets in his way? I guess this is the turning point in his life that's going to change everything. He's probably gonna moonlight the streets of his town and hunt every last parasite to extinction. I honestly don't know what to make of the new girl with the weird esp-like ability. If she was against bullying weaklings so much then why was she hanging out with those deadbeats in the first place? Did she change her mind all of a sudden? She's such an odd addition to the cast. |

Damn, that ending... I can understand why he sort of lost his mind there. The thought that this "thing" before him is not his mother he loved so much and that he will never see his mother again...yeah, that would make anybody lose his mind. Oh and the dad might be dead too.
Kana is interesting as she can sense Migi's presence. It is a long time since I had last rad parasyte so maybe she was the first one Shinichi/migi told everything? Not sure though... |

With what he has been through, Human/animal life ending before him countless times, this would be nothing. But thats a little heartless. Either way interested to see how the next episode plays out. Spoiler for Really not a spoiler... (about the ending):

DAMN IT, that ending! It was obviously coming, but damn it!
Gonna repeat what I said here last week; it's amazing that this show hasn't drop a beat in its pacing or intensity from the get go. And according to manga readers, we've barely past the 1/8 mark in the story? Bloody hell. Parasyte is a exhausting watch, but damn if it isn't completely enthralling. And its not just the whole upheaval of Shinichi's life at the end; I smell nothing but trouble from the new Sawashiro character. |

his family is broken apart, maybe he'll blame migi for this. or he'll reach resolve to kill off her own mother (I want to see this). -- kana's appear, and I liked her. |

Shit dude. The end of that episode. I figured it was coming but it was executed brilliantly that it got me right in the gut. There's a possibility the dad may still be alive but I have my doubts.
One major thing we learned from this episode though is that it's indeed possible for a parasite to relocate hosts, yet with some limitations. Makes me wonder what Migi will do when he inevitably discovers this information.

That last part where Shinichi continuously refused to accept the obvious fact, must be too mind-breaking for him. Well, we all know that this was coming from all those buildups but nevertheless hard to swallow this. All Shinichi left after that episode is probably just Murano and (maybe) Kana.
P.S. That background music when Shinichi is confronted by his mom is kinda amazing. |

Neither spazzed out on the girlfriend question. Big surprise. Shinichi even asks her to stay over. He's a healthy boy (w. an alien hand) after all.
