The fact that he decided on something people metaphorically named iron sand is the fact that iron dust is the most flexible form and thus the 3rd could create all kinds of forms with it - just like Gaara. But those two techniques are totally different from each other.

Gaara: infuses Sand with chakra and takes minerals from the ground to harden his sand bareers and carries sand infused with a high about of chakra with him.

3rd Kazekage: creates magnetic fields, carries iron dust with him.

Mac Gyver: creates nuclear sand by utilizing a chewing gum and his Swiss army knife.

What I understand from this is that McGyver>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all

But yeah, I was wrong at first as I thought the Kazekage's ability wasn't unique and so Shukaku's host could learn to use it, but not that he already knew how to use it in the first place.

Exactly. Iron sand is born from Shukaku sand techniques. However, Gaara can still control the sand without the Shukaku inside him.

I can't help it but I thought there was a story about an ancient priest who's soul is inside the sand in Gaara's back but I have not yet re-read it. Maybe I am totally false there, but there's a feint "memoir".

I remembered that part as well from ages ago. I suppose Gaara was either slightly mis-informed or its just another minor inconsistency. It could even be a mistranslation. Either way, at the time, the point was that Gaara was no different than Naruto in that he also had a monster sealed inside him. Idk if Gaara still being able to control sand has to do with this priest or anything, but I'm thinking its simply because Gaara's been using sand for so long that there's really no other way for him to fight. Also, I'm thinking Sand jutsus are simply the use of wind techniques to erode the earth to create like bits of of sand. The Shuukaku does use the wind element after all, so using sand isn't something a normal person can't do.

Supposedly Kushina either died or vacated Konoha early in Naruto's life. So, the image is of Sarutobi, not Kushina, considering that Kushina should have been dead or gone by the time the picture was taken.

You know, for a chapter that supposedly confirms Sasuke's place as a villain, this thread is sure dead. I thought there would be a little more discussion over these events. I guess this is just like when we all assumed that Sasuke used a genjutsu to escape being killed by HJ back at the beginning of their fight. It seems we have simply all assumed that Sasuke is acting the fool, instead of him actually being a fool.

Yea i do agree, i really want sasuke to be "the fool" as u say, that would be so much more interesting than him being all nice, and would set up more epic battles.. narutos promise to sakura to bring sasuke back.. would be warranted in a body bag wouldnt it?

Also for me sasuke as the final villian would prolong naruto.. as idk about every1 else.. but id rather see naruto develop to an adult.. maybe even see him lead a team of genin.. maybe his own lil country of the wave arc, or even bell test... which knowing naruto, would make a few chuckle... i just think if we see something where he defeats sasuke and time skip abrakadabra im hokage.. that would be so poor... but i dont wanna say to much... just incase it *touch wood* happens:S

If wiki's to be trusted, for Kishi the manga has gone for around 11 years, since he first conceved it in a oneshot in '97.
With the current pace I can see it ending on it's 10th aniversiry, with Kishi 35. (otherwise, it might never end )

As in he was commissioned by the elders or something like that to kill orochimaru and then possibly find madara for them and keep tabs? I can see this as a possibility.

So in my eyes the manga can go two ways.

It can either be the above thing or,

Naruto and saskue can have another fight at the valley of the end.

Naruto and Sasuke MUST fight each other again... same way Goku and Vegeta did it in Majin Buu Arc.

And i think that fight will be the last one between them.

Itachi talking with Naruto and giving him some kind of "power", maybe its the key point, because Itachi could foreseeing Sasuke going in Revenge Mode, or maybe he thought that Naruto could fight no with Sasuke but Madara... But the whole point is that Naruto will fight to death with someone very powerful who will try to attack Konoha and the list is:

The thing Itachi gave Naruto should be the key against Amaterasu. Some kind of counter-attack or shield. Something that will avoid Amaterasu, I think. It looked pretty much like Amaterasu, but it was black on white, so it could have any kind of colour.

We saw him as a wonderful, caring little boy and I know that Naruto will get through to him. He did it once and he will succeed. Eveyone keeps saying he will be like Orochimaru and just be the ultimate villian, but I truely believe that Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke will succeed where Jiraiya/Tsunade/ Orochimaru failed. It is a time for their generation to take over and I ultimately think that Sasuke is just playing Madera. Please see my post about my prediction on Page 10 #192.
