The original character design for Elizabeth was awesome, but then they made her more "game-y" for the final product... I'll definitely be playing Infinite sooner or later, but this was a major disappointment. But, at least it looks like the ending is something to look forward to... sorta.

Okay, so I just finished it, and the plot seems to be about a famished madman who runs around eating every piece of produce in the city, causing massive shortages and food riots that get a little out of control.

If Pac-Man met this cat, he'd be like "dude, relax."

He's not as strange as the chuunibyou lady who keeps an infinite stock of carbine rifles hidden under her dress, though.

10/10, would gnaw on again.

Finally finished the game, and I'm not too sure how I feel about the ending...

- the revelation that Booker was Comstock... No seriously, what? On some levels, it makes sense, but as I dig deeper, my brain started haemorrhaging. I hate time-travel stores...

That said, I had a blast with the game. According to Steam, it took me about 13 hours to complete the game. Not bad.

I had the same first prediction, and I was also caught out by the the third revelation to.

I missed the second predicition because I misheard an early part of the game. I thought I heard him say Anna was his wife, so the daughter bit confused me for a little bit. But the Comstock part I didn't pick up on, even with the Voxophone of Lutece mentioning how he aged rapidly because of the cancer riddling his body, I had to have that shoved in my face. I did however figure that Elizabeth was stolen from another universe/dimension though back when you are finishing up the Lady Comstock arc, just not the relationships - in hindsight it makes me feel kinda silly.

Lives, Lived, Will Live. Dies, Died, Will Die. They summed up the whole plot those two sentences pretty much.

Still I was fine with it all. I had to go away and process the whole thing for about 10 minutes to make sense of it all. But I really liked it.

The one thing I needed outright told to me was that:

Elizabeth was granted her ability to manipulate tears in space-time when her pinkie finger was severed by the closing tear as Comstock was abducting her.

Otherwise every other revelation came to me after mulling over it all a little bit.

Anyway, that was indeed a fantastic game. Gave me pretty much everything I wanted from a BioShock title only improved. I did my playthrough on Normal difficulty and it was still pretty tough as well. I "died" approximately 30 times but it probably would've been even more if it wasn't thanks to Liz and her support.

Kind of disappointing how the American exceptionalism and interracial relations were put in the back seat to all the space-time/multiverse tomfoolery though. Nothing really was resolved on that front; it was mainly just a means to create conflict and a sense of danger.

It's a shame the game doesn't have really any replay value outside of achievments/trophies either. In that case I'm eagerly awaiting the three upcoming story related DLC packs.

Born-Again Chinese Christian, Hong Xiuquan, who got a vision telling him he was the younger brother of Jesus Christ, and he proceed to attempt to create a new Christian Empire in China under his divine rule. 20 million people died as a result of his actions.

Even though it was a different rebellion, I believe the similarities was too close to Cormstock to be a coincident.

...it was not even time-travel. One of Lutece's Voxophone recordings talks about Comstock growing old more rapidly after jumping worlds to often, it also made him steril, thus the need of grabbing the daughter of his other self.

Hell, they set themselves well up for DLC. Almost all the characters bar Booker/Liz were underdeveloped.

The games main theme was a-ok with me given that it involved the opposite theme of what I ABSOLUTELY HATE:

Time travel, I love multiverse themes. At first as the game progressed I was afraid thats what they were going for but to me pleasant surprise they went for the more uncommon theme used in video games.

@ Dingo, yeah early on it really did seem to lean that way, lol. At least until that pair popped up with their catchphrase.

@ Skane, clearly he is the Alpha series Big Daddy, think about it. It fits in game!

@ Magin, yeah but it's not pulled out the arse (not comparing to AC, I've never played it), it's heavily foreshadowed though.

Finally finished the game. That was awesome , beautiful world , setting , old classic ost , story wow. I always took 5-10mn+ to look the background.
Loved it aswell as the previous bioshock.
My only complain would be the gameplay , Weapons & abilites weren't interesting & the bestiary was meh too compared to the previous games.

For the ending , it tooks me a while to rebuild all the puzzle , that was crazy mindfuck.
But i agree for Songbird need more development for this lil bird.

Well we still know that Fink saw the big daddies on parallel world so he wanted to create a guardian too. And there was a list of participants to get Songbird's post as well as chemical products who let us think that the people inside Songbird was no-human anymore.

Now i remember some events like why the Luteces were playing heads or tails at the beginning.

Well , great job dev , it was really entertaining.

Booker became Comstock in the one universe where he accepted the baptizing after wounded knee but because of this event he did not move to new york and did not have a child like booker did. Comstock then "abducted" Anna DeWitt (AD) from another parallel universe where booker refused the baptizing after finding out he was sterile.

That is why when booker says they need to smoother Comstock after his birth Elizabeth brings him to the river where the other world booker was baptized and became Comstock as it was when Comstock was truly born.

As a result of this booker allows himself to be drowned removing the possiblity of Comstock ever existing.

... this directly conflicts with the logic of having infinite Bookers. Us-Booker was drowning himself instead of the "other" Booker who would become Comstock. I mean, it has already been established that multiple Bookers can co-exist in the same world. Comstock didn't spontaneously combust when Booker entered the same room as him...

What does drowning Us-Booker have to do with Comstock-Booker? Us-Booker already refused the Baptism, that is why he is the Us-Booker now and not the Comstock-Booker.

If instead... they showed Us-Booker assassinating Comstock-Booker before the Baptism, then it would make more sense, I think... in a crazy mass-parallel-worlds' suicide pact sort of way.

Am I missing something here?

Elizabeth has power over BOTH time and space. So she actually brought Booker to the precise point in time when Booker attempted to be baptised. She appeared to have made the current Booker possess the past Booker so he wouldn't resist being drowned.

The Booker you play in the game WAS there, being baptised, so he had to be erased along with Comstock as they share a timeline divergence point. However, there were other Bookers; those who never even TRIED to be baptised. And those Bookers are the ones who survived with their daughters, they are the ones in the after credits scene.

I believe that the baptizing is a point in which new multi-verses are created and branch off and in killing booker the possibility of him becoming Comstock is erased which would eliminate all other relating timelines.

By killing himself at the point in time where he accepted the baptism, Dewitt kills off ANY universal possibilities of Comstock. By dying, Dewitt ensures that Comstock never exists. Comstock never builds Columbia. Comstock never enters Dewitt’s reality and takes Anna. In short, the events of BioShock Infinite are erased.

When Dewitt killed himself at that juncture at the baptism, he didn’t erase himself from existence – he simply killed off every version of Comstock that could exist in the other universes.

In the scene after the credits, Dewitt awakens in his apartment, and goes to check on baby Anna crying in the bedroom. This scene is the universe reacting to Dewitt’s colossal alteration of the timeline, and returning him back to the point right before any of Comstock’s tampering. As the calendar in the scene informs us, this is the day that Comstock WOULD have carried out the deal, and taken Anna. However, now, there is no Comstock. Anna will not be taken and used to carry out an apocalypse. Dewitt and his daughter finally have a reality where they get to be together, and, it’s implied, the Dewitt in this scene is the one who has been transformed into a better man, not the one who was so depressed and lost that he sold his daughter in the first place.
