Basically, Hikaru was always in the "male" role during her relations to other girls, so whenever she saw or interacted with men, she only saw their bad sides or something. The explanation was weird, but she only saw men as violent and dangerous, because she was always the one protecting and never the one being protected.

All I really remember is that Hikaru was adorable and the phrasing would have sent a feminist into a screaming fit.
