I agree with Ookla. There's no easy way to jump right into the manga at where the anime leaves off and understand what's going on because the anime did a hack job on the manga. It dropped critically important characters and story arcs. The stories it did show were out of manga order. Plus the anime cut out all but the barebones of the character development. If you're going to read the manga, you really need to start at the beginning with volume 1.

For example, the mysterious young man who intrigues you, fluffyduckx, debuts in volume 2 chapter 9 in a story that's continued over from volume 1. Since you wouldn't want to land in the middle of a story just to see his debut, you might as well start with volume 1. And if you're reading volume 1 for that story arc, you might as well start at the very first chapter of the volume. (If you do that, you'll learn something interesting about Alzeid that the anime hasn't shown you as of episode 9. How about that as an extra enticement? )

I disagree with your percentage, but there is some truth to what you say. Baroqueheat harasses Rahzel quite often. It's never bothered me personally because she nearly always gets the better of him in the exchange. I keep expecting him to have learned his lesson by now. (Although their interplay doesn't actually explain why the stories are told out of manga-order in the anime. Their banter is usually independent of the stories' plotlines.)

The sub for episode 7 is out. I've wanted to see the sub ever since the first raw comments started appearing because I wondered if the episode actually mentioned a critical point revealed in this story. No one mentioned it when discussing the raw. Now I know why. It's not in the explicitly stated in the episode.

Do you remember Alzeid's description of the person he believes killed his father from episode 5? "A woman with long black hair and blue eyes." Does that description remind you of anyone from this episode? As Alzeid remembers his last childhood flashback, he makes it official in the manga. He believes the woman in the flashback is the one who killed his father. The anime doesn't make that point as clear as the manga did. On the other hand, to give the anime the benefit of the doubt, in the manga it had been much longer between his description of the woman in chapter 12 and his pronouncement that she killed his father in chapter 33. Maybe the animators didn't think it was necessary to have Alzeid explicitly state the fact because the time between the two was shorter in the anime?

I'm really looking forward to the sub for episode 8 because I want to know about one single word that Baroqueheat may or may not have said in the final minute of the episode. Gads, but I wish I understood Japanese at times like this.

Seems that the show is getting better and better since episode 1.I was genuinely touched by this episode.

Putting that aside,I am now seriously in need of the manga once the show is over.I wonder why I haven't heard of the manga until now?If this keeps up I might have to start writing about it again

I thought it was pretty well established that the woman he described = the woman in the flashback = the woman who killed his father. In fact I think he did say that in one of the episodes before that he was going after the woman who killed his dad(?).

Rahzel's father appears just like what we see in the previous episode and somehow they begin to celebrate Rahzel's birthday. Poor Alzied was left asking questions but being ignored like the usual comedic fashion XD

However! Major twist coming up as apparently heat is Rahzel's father's "chibi brother" but I cannot confirm whether that is a joke or serious (though they do have the same colour eyes...).

Anyway...WTF BBQ we see soresta and vincent in a cafe...but if I didn't know any better, I would say that that is a flashback because Soresta is DEAD. It seems like Rahzel's father does indeed know Heat beforehand...

Heat asks him (from what I can understand so don't take it as fact) what he is doing, suddenly sending Rahzel off to a travel now suddenly taking her back. Yes, it seems like Rahzel's father is taking back Rahzel...but if that was the discussion then it couldn't have been a flashback...then that means Soresta is...???

???

I am horribly confused...

Then there is the mysterious young man LKK was talking about...name unknown?

...hell knows what he was doing but he played a part in making Rahzel leave the circle when her father told her to stay.

But then YET another brain fck...the father that we first see isn't actually the father of Rahzel? WTH?

So from the flashback...we have the REAL father (?) thinking back to the night Rahzel killed.

Well...ever since that night, he was apparently searching for Rahzel and he buys a birthday present for her whilst still searching. Ironicly...he manages to find the same shop that Alzied was in but they never got to know each other...so he never got to find Rahzel.

In the end, Alzied jsut couldn't stand the thought fo Rahzel leaving and so chased after the train...where Rahzel jumped into his arms. INSANELY touching scene ;___;

The fake father just sighs...and it seems like he will let her be.

Meanwhile...Rahzel's real father is just killed by the mysterious male...HOLY HELL!?

This couldn't be the end of the series...I refuse to think so...

The guy comments that the game is about to start so where is my second season!? T__T

So yea...the arc with soresta is where Heat first meets Rahzel. But another fact was the flashback must have happened before the meeting because Soresta was still live and well...this means that Heat knew all along that Rahzel was going to be "taken away" again.

This also makes sense considering his reaction towards Rahzel leaving, I would have expected him to react more like Alzied...

LKK: Rahzel's foster father showing up in the Soresta/Vi arc is an anime change. Foster father never appears in the arc except during Rahzel's flashback story about being forced to walk home from the forest without using her magic.

The Sorest/Vi arc that introduced Heat to the story takes place in volume 1 & 2. The meat of episode 10's story comes from volume 8. I don't know how Heat reacted to the idea that Foster Father (aka Heat's brother) was reclaiming Rahzel in the actual manga story. (Ask me again in April after I've read the chapter.)

Edit: In an after thought, I suppose I could learn in v08 that Foster Father was indeed hanging around in the background during the Soresta/Vi arc and that those scenes were simply not shown in v01 & 02. That may be something that's revealed in v08 when Foster Father shows up for real. So let me say that as of v07, there's no evidence that Foster Father was anywhere near the group during the Soresta/Vi arc and leave it at that for now.

Basically he raised her as his own daughter from the time when she was abandoned in the forest. After a while, she came to think of him as her father just as many adopted children do. (My mother was adopted at about the same age as Rahzel was. By the time I was born, she treated her adopted father and mother as her real parents.)

From the episode, it looked to me like Rahzel stepped out of the circle as she was backing away from him. It's possible that she stepped back into the circle rather than run away completely from him. Without the manga to clear things up, I can't say what happened for sure.

Actually the manga tricks you. It doesn't clearly show Rahzel's adoptive father until she wakes up in his house the next day. So you think it was him who found her in the woods, when actually vol. 8 reveals who it really was.

It's remotely possible that the anime is trying to set up for a second season where they go back and cover the important arcs from the earlier part of the manga, but it's kind of artificial because

after this story from volume 8 which is covered in episode 10, Rahzel's father is an integral part of the traveling group, so they'd need some kind of excuse to get rid of him to cover the earlier chapters, and then another excuse for him to join them again to cover the parts after volume 8...not to mention all the important characters from volume 7 that totally got skipped in the anime.

I see. Now don't I feel a little foolish. The manga is good at doing things like that though. Making you think one thing and then later on making you realize that what you thought you knew was wrong. (One of the many things I like about the manga actually.)

I guess the point of the flashback with Soresta and Heat + Rahzel's father (well, the Koyasu Takehito one <.<) talking was also to give an explanation for Heat's betrayal in the previous episode (making so that it was the father to ask him in order to separate them from Rahzel or something). I was actually glad that they did try to explain it, because I was still puzzled by how weird episode 9 was x_x

And meh, really this anime makes you want to read the manga SO much ._.;; Now I'm totally regretting not buying the manga volumes while I was in the US last month ;_;
