A very awesome and well animated opening .
I don't mind love triangles, even in mecha, but it would be nice to have relatively straightforward romances in Captain Earth, with Daichi and Hana and possibly the hacker/Akari with Teppei . I like how the opening ends on a shot resembling the first promo art of the series, though the mecha is missing the gun . I'm a little surprised that none of the other main characters got a shot in the opening in their plugsuits... Daichi looks like the single pilot of the mecha, so I really have to wonder what the roles for the rest of the cast are?

Well, it was a better first episode than Star Driver's. So that's a plus. I'm not exactly bought yet, so I'll give it two or three more episodes before I decide to stick or split.

It's entirely pointless to have a mech separated into lego pieces and assemble it at the point of its launching but who cares, that was some glorious mech porn to grace these eyes.
The rest of the episode was boring as all hell, but will keep watching for a while for the eye candy.

I agree with you he is so a pedpbear the Bizon of captain Earth. I mean like he possessive and think Hana is his. Daichi he a pretty fun MC he and Aoba would get along fine and they both have pretty long hair love interest. Hana and Hina FTW

I'll give Daichi props, he's a pretty fun main character to follow. Doesn't like the situation so pretty much just decides to take care of the problem. Anyone want to mess with a guy who can summon that kind of weapon whenever he wants ? Definitely is his livlaster that's for sure.
Just glad Daichi took some direct action against the situation. Not sure how long I was going to get by if that jerk was allowed to keep this shock collars on the kids. May not fully resolve the situation since that jerk is still around, but it was a nice way to end an episode. Key lesson is don't get between kids and their boomerangs .

I like how they decided to not go the angst route for the MC, who has every right to get angry at the Salty Dog fella.
Daichi was so boss at the end. Salty Dog: "That is not your Livlaster!" Daichi: *walks to the beach and summons the Livlaster, proceeds to destroy the monitoring system controlling Teppei and Hana.* "Come, let us play with the boomerang!" And based on the preview: Spoiler for preview:

I think the second episode made it obvious that the splendid visuals are alone are responsible for keeping this show afloat. If you thought the first episode was too jam-packed, the second episode's a narrative mess.
When Daichi doesn't come off as a puppet when he's being pulled by will of Livlaster, he acts like a six year old kid who doesn't care for whatever scheming the adults are up to. He's not the least baffled when he finds himself in space piloting a mech and battling an alien. He asks none of the pertinent questions any normal human being would ask when they're thrust into the middle of a clusterfuck and when he eventually reunites with his friends after such a long time, he acts like he'd just met them yesterday. I'd be willing to let the last one go if he at least tried to pay attention to what the adults were talking about. His uncle tells him that he'd just fought an alien and he just shrugs it off like it was nothing (although he does ask about his father's involvement with the secret agency, which, at least, means that his head wasn't in the clouds, at least not completely). On two separate occasions, Daichi just powers through petrification and pain in a matter of seconds. If this is how the show's gonna handle his character then it's going to be a huge problem. But that's only a part of the problem. Once the fight is over, the show spends its time spinning its many wheels as we get a sneak peek at a host of new shady characters who've got their own individual motivations shrouded in mystery (although the show makes it pretty clear that they're up to no good what with their obvious conniving smiles). To make matters worse, the characters throw around a string of psuedowords that make absolutely no sense at this point, making the story even more impenetrable than it already is. I really hope the show gets its shit together and unclogs its holes soon because the pipes are about to burst any minute. We've also got a skeevy slimeball, who's very possessive of the dark-skinned girl, who I'd love to see get shot. |

I'm somewhat more affably toward Daichi this episode, I guess not having too much of the typical "angst" MC's trait in your mecha anime helped but he still generic. But again I still like the villain which it compensate the so-far generic MC and Hana is a shy/silence type girl... That is huge turn off for me. Had Hana haves the personality of the computer girl it would been perfect.
Hana x Daichi is also somewhat confirmed. Also again, that dickface need to be shot.

Libido is Orgone too. The desire to mate and reproduce is the Libido described by Freud, which lead to the theory of Orgone. So you might joke, but sexual attraction is clearly a part of all this.
