Yeah, a lot of people got annoyed because of the "she can do this because she's Erza" thing.
Anyway. I do not like Drakken calling Rebecca his "property". I really hope Shiki can somehow get a power-up big enough to beat him here so he can do that and then get Rebecca out of there. She isn't anyone's property. Though I'm certainly curious about why Drakken thinks of her as his property and what that has to do with him calling her "No. 29". What do we not know about her yet that Drakken knows? I want answers, Miyama. I like Drakken's Overdrive look, though. Would be good if Shiki could also do the real Overdrive somehow, at some point in the story.

If only Rebecca realized that Leaper has time warping capabilities. That could've helped them here. Their best chance right would be outside help.
Noah, their guild master, sold them out but he seems to expect Rebecca to be able to get out of this. I wonder what he thinks will happen. I'm still waiting for the reveal about what it is that Drakken knows about her that we don't.

So he has back the Dark Mashima from Rave Master....
Or is this the new version Mashima? the hybrid one birth from fusion of his writter persona from Fairy tail and Rave Master. Light and Darkness Mashima, the one can bring you enjoy for hype but at some time you may cautious for sudden disappointment. Either way, this scene has made a notable difference from Fairy tail none main characters of Fairy tail suffered a despair like this. I wonder what we will see next... |

Well... Bloody Hell... I'm legitimately speechless at this development. I must say this might be the darkest I have seen a weekly shonen manga go and I mean truly dark, not mere edgy and grimderp garbage that amounts to a lot of blood and no real tension. You can feel the characters at their lowest here. Poor Rebecca will be utterly destroyed from seeing all her friends tortured, sold and killed because some mob boss is after her for reasons she doesn't even understand.
I have been following Mashima-sensei's works for years and I have never seen him go into dark territory this effectively. I can only compare this to Tappei-sensei's Re Zero and that's high praise from me because Re Zero is my favorite light novel series. Since it was stated early on time travel will be kind of a theme here, I'm looking forward to see how Mashima-sensei will get the crew out of this catastrophic BAD END. |

If he does go the time travel route to save Shiki, I'll be glad for that but at the same would also be disappointed if all of the character development that could've happened to Shiki doesn't happen. Can't it be done in a way such that Shiki not only is saved through time travel but also has his character development?
Either way, Shiki will be saved. Let's just hope it's handled well.

Or Mashima could just go full bore with it and actually keep Shiki dead. Which would be amazing in it's own right

Yeah, Xiaofei (is that the narrator's name?) already told us before that things with time would be a theme in this story and now Rebecca has an Ether Gear that lets her travel through time. So Shiki can still be brought back with that. And I don't think it would continue for very long without Shiki.
