Well, he's not wrong.
I loved that whole passage, actually. He initially envisioned Gon as "every mother's son" and he kept that look and demeanor, but Togashi realized the manga would be a lot more interesting if Gon was a bit crazy. And then he blamed it on Ging.

Ehhhh a psychopath doesn't have the ability to form bonds and friendships though. Gon totally does.
Gon just isn't held down by such irrational and limiting concepts such as "societal norms". If he's anything at all, he'd be autistic. |

I am just following what the google said.
Quote:
Even if they and I were wrong about it, psychopath is still sound a lot cooler than simply being "crazy". |

The problem here is that he does not seem to lack empathy at all. There are a lot of people he cares about, and often gets angry genuinely on their behalf.
Anyway it's not all that important, but it's going to take more than that to convince me. His moral compass being very specific/unusual and not determined by societal norms seems more in line with autism. Conversely, psychopaths tend to blend in more since they determine that it's easier to behave the way people expect you to behave. EDIT: Although the autism angle also kinda stops dead when I consider he doesn't particularly suffer from communication issues or overstimulation. I still do not think he would be so great with animals if he were a psychopath though. Last edited by Dengar; 2018-05-30 at 07:57. |

Hunter x Hunter Returns From 5-Month Hiatus on September 22
Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga will resume in this year's 43rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on September 22. The series has been on hiatus since its 380th chapter debuted in this year's 19th issue of the magazine on April 9. The manga went on hiatus last September, and Togashi announced at the time that he planned to resume the series before the end of the year. The manga then resumed in this year's ninth issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on January 29. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...ber-22/.136334

There seems to be a plan now, with an acknowledgement of Togashi's medical reality. I think this is about what we're going to get - 10 chapters (enough for a volume) then a 4-6 month break, then another 10 chapters. If that means his back can hold out well enough to keep him drawing, I'll happily take it.
In a recent interview Togashi was actually asked about someone else taking over the drawing side. He basically said he's fine with working with other artists on some stuff (he has with one-shots) but he still feels like H x H should be what he imagines in his mind's eye and can't see anyone else drawing it (more or less).
