Well Makoto has overcome a number of turbulences prior to this such as:

1. Overcoming his trauma fighting with Sophia and Lancer
2. Learning about the power level of the world compared to Asora and himself (plus him being referred to as the Devil)
3. This might be Makoto's real personality manifesting since he is now strong enough to bear it
4. The main issue with Makoto was inexperience and he has been accumulating it (dealing with Rona, Zara, and other influential people)
5. Lastly, Makoto is soooo busy running back and forth in Rotsgard for repair work and academy. He pretty much has a "I don't give a f**k" mentality now since he is tired lol

Hence, Makoto's self confidence has went up tremendously and he is getting better at dealing with shady matters such as Root's case from his accumulated experiences. Makoto is not even aware that he's leading Root around in that conversation and he attributes it to them underestimating him too much while unaware that he has grown. This arc was a turning point of sorts for our MC anyway.

So Root can only maintain that stand magic armour that Makoto used for 10 minutes.... that speaks volumes about how much mana Makoto has to spare using that skill in a light-hearted manner.

Actually, with chapter 168 translated, some things about spoilers become more reasonable.

"Resurrecting". (Specifically, Sophia "Resurrecting" becomes more reasonable.)

What chapter 168 seems to say, is that both Sophia and Lancer were created by Root as experiments, combining a half-dead dragon and a weapon filled with hatred with his own blood to create a new Superior Dragon that can absorb like he can.

My assumption is that Lancer gained the Dragon's Body and Swords Spirit, while Sophia took the Sword as her "body" and took the Dragon's Spirit. This could mean that, even if Sophia "dies" as a "hyuman", so long as she isn't "broken" as a "sword", then she can rematerialize. The only problem is, her "death" is almost certainly a true death, and thus the sword that's Sophia's true body needs a new spirit to generate a new body.

In other words, Sophia probably isn't Sophia, she's a different "Spirit" in the same body/sword.

Great chapter. Susanoo coming out of nowhere made me chuckle. What I wouldn't give to see the expression on Shiki(especially after his previous encounter), Mio and Tomoe when they hear they're entertaining a god.

He just wanted to take a peek Makoto's little world that he created after finishing his business with the BUG. (Which was basically putting a Slave Collar on her as punishment)

The gods visiting Makoto are Susanoo, Athena, and Shiva. All of them are war gods who favor Makoto and have been stalking him throughout his life on Earth. They are core members of the Makoto fanclub. Also, Makoto is supposed to have a friendly match with Athena next chapter.

This is another reason why people call Makoto a battle maniac being favored by three of the most destructive and battle loving gods.

Now we just need to wait for Tamaki's appearance. Also, Susanoo was really courteous there waiting for Makoto to wake up and ask before entering to Asora.

If I remember the spoilers correctly, I think it was about Makoto defying all odds as a baby, and managing to live despite being born in a dire situation. It might also have to do with his Archery meditation or something.

I thought it was because his parents were from another world so they took interest in him.

Also my theory as to why he was chosen is because he was conceived before his parents moved to our universe so he is technically otherworldly unlike his sisters who were conceived AFTER his parents transported. Could be wrong but the evidence is there.

No, Makoto has a sister older than him and a sister younger than him.

Also Like what was said before, he was a baby that should have been still born. Also IIRC, he has a talent, but instead of using that talent, he rejected it and poured himself into archery. Something he had no talent in at all. So All his skills in archer are pure hard work.
We don't know what that talent is though, Obviously been kept secret.
