That was a rather fun episode. I don't know why they didn't age the Dr. Slump characters, there were designs for them already when they went to the future. There should have been more Gatchans too.

I do not know why 30% of fan hate ep 69? It seems those 99% do not even watch Classic DB and Dr Slump.

The people who hated this episode most likely never read/watched Dr. Slump, yes. Or they simply didn't like that series. I mean, 80% of it is just poop humor. Lots of people get turned off by that.

I suspect there's also a faction that were angry to see their previous DBZ characters ridiculed by a little girl.

I never watched Dr. Slump but watched DB. Still, I came to love DBZ, so of course stuff like what may have happened in Ep069 is out of my range of interest.

yeah for what i get the problem is really the "DBZ childrens", peoples which only watched dbz and thing which dbz is the only true dragon ball and which dragon ball is aways battle and drama and all and akira is not a comedy gag mangaka, then when akira is trying to bring back the comedy and make a sort of mix between DBZ and classic DB they get angry.

I watched DB since goku was kid and i loved it to be honest i liked more original DB than DBZ which was more fun and all the "nonsense" and crap writing was more easy to forget since the manga was more comedy focused then when piccolo arc come and goku akira changing the serie to be more "mature" almost killed it and make the manga lost a important part of it which was the comedy for me and only showed how akira is bad at plot when he forget the comedy.

this is why i liking more super than dbz now, because i really feel like the "old db" coming back and the manga try to be more truly to his roots, which was being a "non serious" serie with some fanservice(bulma) some battle and many funny moments which was what make db a sucess for me.

Actually, I'm on the opposite side of scale, Blueknight78. DBS having returned a bit to the DB roots has been making me dislike it a bit, pretty much because I prefer DBZ to DB.

let' me rephase then, the problem is more exactly peoples which like dbz more or only dbz and not the "whole dragon ball", it's not like you are wrong to not like and prefer dbz, you can but that is the problem since you prefer dbz more serious style which make things complicated, cuz for peoples which enjoy both db and dbz or more db see dbs going back more to it's roots is more acceptable and likeable because they know which this was dragon ball in the beginner and episodes like that don't look out of place or wrong they look really fine and in line with dragon ball.

while i was not too fondle of dbz i still enjoyed it my true concern not was really the lack of comedy(i really missed it but was able to live with it), it was the stupid pace the anime give making most of the battles unbearable and really boring and bad due to endless fillers pointless episodes during the battles, this make me hate a lot dbz, the fact which i could skip like 10 or 20 episodes and still on the same battle was something terrible on dbz for me, i could watch it on the first time with all the annoying i could endure, on the second time i started to get anger then the third and after i just could not bear anymore see they milking terrible the battles, that was one of the reasons i don't even tried to watch the db kai, even knowing which they cut really a lot of the "fillers episodes and scenes" i was still anger and annoyed for all the wasted time for the past, that really hurt hard my like for dragon ball serie.

the fact which super is trying to be just another dbz was what bring me back to enjoy dragon ball again, no more endless battles and the comedy come back make me feel like watching a really good shounen serie again.

well whatever even with all the mess we get on super so far i'm still really enjoying it and so far super is being much better than dbz for me because this time they are really trying to make dragon ball be a dragon ball serie which is not just a "battle shounen" serie.

Poop jokes and "gag force" beating god tier main characters is not good comedy. Good comedy is Beerus break dancing, DB Kart, Goku putting a rabbit on the moon, Oolong wishing for panties to save the world, Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, etc.

Kinda wonder that Toriyama lacks something that made Sorachi write Gintama for so much time. I mean, Gintama has a tendency to go between comedy episodes and action arcs too frequently.

arale was so adorable and it was a pretty funny chapter, even though the next one looks ridiculous is seems that is going to be hilarious. I have to admit that comedy chapters in DB are good.

Episode 70:

Oh wow, this episode got me laughing. I mean, seeing everyone..Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, etc all in baseball outfits.

I remember watching Gohan play baseball before a long time ago in one of the DBZ episodes but seeing more baseball in this show again was quite entertaining. I love the part where Goku threw the ball in his Blue form lmao. Champa's rage was rather amusing as well. Really glad to see some of the Universe 6 Saga characters again.

Beerus and Champa still has their rivalry. Never change. Yamcha was also hilarious this episode.
