I understand that much. I was just confused seeing Atago without Takao, I thought they were a pair or something. Like seeing Tenryuu without Tatsuta. It just feels weird to me :/

The reason you see it that way is because of the character design. And Tenryuu/Tatsuta's case is the same plus in-game dialogue. It's like what a good number of fans has been assuming from the beginning when it doesn't really mean it works that way. Having heard and translated some lines, even in-universe it isn't really that consistent and gets somehow more confusing.

For quite a few of them, those two are the same

Anyway, I really doubt Fubuki and her roomates sleep in their school uniform, unless they always need to be ready in case of night battle, and even then it would be really weird.

Here's the English language confirmation.

Also confirmed in Twitter that the Kancolle Crunchyroll streaming includes North American viewers. Which definitely means Funimation does not have the home video rights to the series (since Crunchyroll and Funimation are fierce competitors when it comes to streaming rights, the home video rights will most likely fall into Sentai Filmworks hands since Sentai Filmworks have good business relationship with Crunchyroll and the fact that they've licensed Girls und Panzer, an anime very similar to Kancolle).

If sadface on promotiona poster and being serious instead of the goofier fanon interpretation of Akagi are death flags, you seriously need to revise your definition of that phrase.
