Weird. Thought I'd like Rin as well, but so far I like Shimamu more. Maybe its because of that manga. Or that I like her default outfit more (While on that, I like her blazer more than Haruka's old school seifuku).
Also, I had no idea she's older than Rin and Mio. Some fan |

Still strange having the ability to watch an episode of anime officially dubbed immediately after it airs in Japan.
Not much actually happens conflict-wise this episode, apart from Miku trying to beat our NG trio through games. For the Mika fans though, the performance at the end will be most pleasing in a lot of ways. The standout for me this episode though was Anya, who actually sounds awkward enough speaking Japanese to be adorably convincing as the Russian trying to fit in. Hope we see a lot of her in the future too And of course, Ranko-sama

Producer finally cracked more facial expressions this episode.
I'm waiting for the moment the Japanese fanartists take note of it and run away with it.

The quality faces in this episode was an all time high. Can't stop laughing Then the mood changes and I could feel the nervousness too. Fear that the trio will screw up like those dancers in the Idolmaster movie but luckily it went well. Also, what's with the sound during Tokimeki? It sounded like it was ripped in low quality Go Rin for the leading and that Rin focus at the end where she probably realizes this is her path. Overall, a good episode besides some quality issues and catgirl.

I guess it is too much to expect more episodes like the first one, but yeah, the design consistency took a major hit this week, especially in the first half. That said, the animation was good so no complaint there.
This episode felt like a retake of imas movie, with rookies as backstage dancers. Pacing was quite good, with balanced screentime for the rest of the cast. That said, I really wish they will tone down Miku's antics or send her away for most of the time. While Iori's "rivalry" was sort of okay, Miku was just dumb and obnoxious. I was kind of surprised that Mio was the one who got pressured the most there. Although Rin leading the trio was to be expected, and it is nice to see that she is getting even more motivation now.

FRIED CHICKEN LMAO. FRIED CHICKEN MOE
The QUALITY faces were so cringe-worthy that I almost had to look away in embarassment, seeing as how good overall the first 2 episodes looked. The performance made up for it, though. I really liked the song. What's funny was that my brother suggested that when the 3 get lifted up by the platform, they should all jump to get even higher. I was like, "lolz no. that would be wack. plus, that's dangerous!" Surely enough, they jumped and it was fuckin AWESOME as shit! I like what they did with trying to make it sound like we're hearing the song live and not hear the studio version. It really makes me feel like I'm there. I hope they do it with all the performances in the future. |

GJ, Rin, getting your girls to move. xD
Also damn, Rin's pose when she jumped onto the stage was so cute I had to rewind and check if that was really the cool Rin I have seen the past three episodes. o.o Anya's sooooooooooooooooo adorable~~~ Can't wait to see her in costume and hear her sing. <3 Our girls did a great step forward onto their future to become idols! And Producer-san will have an easier time now accepting new roles for the girls. |

The song was great imo although the animation was a bit sluggish for the latest episode. Rin has potential to be a leader and has a hidden singing talent. I wouldn't be surprised if they chose her as a backup singer during this season.
Lol, fried chicken.

It was a good episode. The amusing moments with Miku, Anya with her awkwardness, and Ranko with her laugh. Also we got introduced to a few more CG girls, and man seeing Mayu there was kinda scary if you know anything about her.
With the animation though, I see that they had to focus on the dances, so the rest of the episodes were funny looking, although not enough for me to noticed.

That was a good episode. Rin taking charge of that group and having that hidden singing ability was not a surprise, but still nice. Someone had to at least feign confidence so all three could move towards the stage . The little singing moment was nice and now gives the Producer something else to consider when it comes to her future.
The Anya moments were nice. Seems like a nice girl who is taking on a heavier role than most since it appears Russian is her first language. So she's handling the language barrier and working on everything else it takes to be an idol. Still quite a nice person on top of it all. I'm glad the only hiccups were with the practice run. Kind of a given the first time you are being launched onto a stage like that you'd stumble a bit. Really glad the actual performance went so well. The music for the performance was nice as well, had the kind of feel you'd expect from a live performance.

This episode had over 30 key animators, a ton of secondary key animators (including many other studios as well), 8 animation director assistants, and 2 key frame animation assistant; the last of which I've never seen before this episode (at least I can't recall any from top of my head). Given A-1's background, there isn't really an "identity" for the studio so to speak, but IM@S is pretty much their defining series.
Yeah the faces got weird at points, but this is still a wonderful episode and certainly not lack of effort. Full body movements are extremely difficult to draw, and the result was definitely praiseworthy. |

Good to see Rin show some hints of leadership (I have great expectation for her), Jougaski being both sexy and cute takes second place and Amy's is as cute as I expected.
Haruka mk.2 still keep me unimpressed, I can't see where Ranko popularity comes from and I can't help wonder how did that cookie girl managed became idol either (on second thought she does have quite nice smile so...) Overaly this shows proves itself to be keeper more and more with every episode.
