I think that they conveniently used it as an excuse to explain why they invaded a country, dismembered someone and is currently using his body parts as an energy source.

Remember in the first episode there is the big ugly thing that say it is your fate to search for the corpse...? Yeah i guess our chaika is the clone, the real one is dead in the attack long ago, thats why there is a memory loss, and there is many chaika running around, and for what they are collecting them? Resurection...of course, im sure the final boss is the guy that gave us info, or at least his boss...

Pretty good episode even with the changes and omissions (mostly Chaika fanservice but hey, fanservice is good in proper doses) now the anime is about to catch up the scanlations which also means uncharted territory for me starting episode 4. Or half of it

Oh, Dominica's intro was nice. I need the full ED right now, all four versions of it.

I agree. I also love the way she talks. She is utterly adorable without lightning and biting attacks XD

What I like in this episode is the detail Chaika put in repairing the vehicle.

It shows she has mechanical knowledge.

I also like it when Toru start setting perimeter traps or at least warning threads though I laugh when he put the wood in the middle of the string. I think usually, it will be hidden as well as the strings.

Vivi is also cute tsundere. Doing her best for Gillete-sama

lots of things are cut in this episode and they are really burning novel material. At their pace. its like 1 book per 2 episodes.

they even reveal the chaika information. I don't remember that in the manga.

Isn't it just? It's good to see a significant portion of the cast display an appropriate degree of real world competency and foresight which adds a lot to the story. It's not even anything difficult and yet simple things like this are often completely elusive to other anime. Another enjoyable episode.

Well, it was beyond just simple usage - she seemingly knew how to maintain the vehicle, identify parts that needed replacements etc. Definitely looks like she had full training (or perhaps implanted memories/knowledge) on all things magic related.

This, the hunters questioning the existence of emperor Gaz having a daughter, and the multiple "fake Chaikas" calls to question on the validity of Chaika being a princess, and whether or not this is yet another clone (since we have not seen any of the "fakes" yet). If emperor Gaz never had a daughter to begin with, then the question becomes what the original Chaika is (assuming that the fakes are clones rather than other random girls).

And it seems that my suspicion on the "gov" pursuers' higher ups had some merit, thanks to the pursuers themselves questioning the motives of this operation. I'm guessing they will break off from their position eventually when they find out what the higher ups are really after, and end up being some sort of ally to Chaika's group.

If King Arthur Gaz never had a daughter nor he planned to have a successor, then he should build clones of himself instead of passing his knowledge on his daughter. That's my take 'cause having vast knowledge in magic, Arthur Gaz can defy death.

Yeah, the amount of competence in this LN adaption is quite surprising. It looks so easy and yet LN writers get it wrong all the time. Other than that this episode was okay. Nothing special, but I quite liked the humor.

actually the question of him not having a daughter for 500 years can be tied to that he doesn't plan to have a successor. Plus how can he live that long? I can't consider that as a human if he live for 500 years.

For me, I think he just plan for a backup(chaika series) if something happens to him. Revive him or something.

though I wish to see how a powerful wizard got taken down by different country. If Gaz empire is indeed advance and powerful empire. I would like to see a back story for it. It might also clarify on who or what Chaika is.

Considered that socerer from first episode recognised her as well as having name that is known in general means at least one Chaika existed as official daughter and noone ever said he didn't have any other offspring like that before.

I think something is not quite right. The coffin is too small for a adult male but just nice for someone of Chaika's size. I suspect Chaika is a magical clone of the emperor who had put clones of herself in case someone happens to her.

I must say I'm surprised Chaika turns out to be so useful. She can fix up a vehicle. And remain spotlessly white while she's at it!
