Sneezing, she wondered if she was coming down with a cold, again. She probably was, knowing her luck these days. "Why?" She asked no one in particular as she shivered.

"Well, well, well..." Her eyes widened and she turned her head, that familiar voice... Standing in the doorway was a man she never thought that she'd see again. "I can't say that I'm surprised, Precia." Chuckling, he walked forward and shook his head. "To go from incredibly sick to healthy? I'm sure that your immune system decided to take a nap."

"Jail..." Precia groaned and saw the two women behind him. "Who are they?"

Jail smirked at her. "I'd like you to meet Uno and Due..." He gestured to each one in turn. "The first two of my Combat Cyborg program."

"You..." She coughed again, "you managed to get that to work?"

"Not without problems, I admit." Jail admitted as Uno and Due walked into the cabin and looked around curiously.

Due picked up a framed picture and tilted her head. "Hmm... Guess your daughter was pretty bad off, huh?"

"Don't talk about my family." Precia growled as she sat up in bed.

Or tried to, as she shivered, groaned and fell back onto the bed. "Ugh..." Her body felt so weak and her head was spinning.. She frowned as she felt a hand on her forehead.

"Doctor..." Uno turned to Jail. "Her fever is incredibly high. The flu?"

"Perhaps." Jail nodded as he gave Precia a serious look. "I need something from you."

"Of course." Precia muttered and started coughing again. "You always needed something, you never could do anything on your own."

Jail chuckled as he walked over to her desk where Due was looking at various pictures. "Ah, the good old days..." He trailed off as he saw the picture of Precia and her co-workers. "To think that some of our experiments back then would bare fruit now, hmm?" He turned to her and smiled. "So, how is that darling little girl of yours doing?"

"Alicia is dead and Fate not under my care anymore. I couldn't be a mother, to either of them... Alicia became a monster and Fate needed to live a life where she's not abused by someone as horrible as I am." She narrowed her eyes at Jail. "Just what do you want, Jail?"

"Just some information." A serious look came to his face. "I was hoping that you'd bring up what happened on Mid-Childa about a year ago, actually..."

"Why..?" She wondered what was going through his head, before shivering as a chill went through her body and she coughed. 'Darn cold...' She thought to herself.

"Because... You did more research into ancient technologies and magic than I have, I'll admit. I need your notes." He told Due to put down the picture she was looking at.

"I never found anything." Precia looked at Due and Uno and couldn't help but feel a little put out. "So, you decided that normal women weren't enough?"

Jail chuckled and shook his head. "These two are genetically related to me, Precia... Now, your notes. Anything on Al Hazard technologies and magic you might have... Stumbled across in your lifetime."

"I didn't discover anything..." She looked at the dresser that Due was by. "But, if you want to know, just get that blonde to move her butt out of the way and it's in the top drawer."

Due gave her a rather nasty look. "Can I suffocate her?"

"No, Due..." Jail put a hand on her shoulder and opened the desk drawer. "You can't sit on her face and suffocate her, she's just upset, ah!" He pulled out a data pad and grinned as he turned it on. "All your research for so many years... Project F... Lost Logia... AH! This is what I wanted..."

"What?"

Jail started chuckling as he pulled out another data pad and hooked the two up. He wouldn't dream of stealing Precia's work completely. It was all she had left to be remembered by at this time after all. Copying it was always better, besides, if he needed to, he could always come back and get the notes again, in case his got corrupted or lost. "The Knight Valkrye Armor... I thought it was destroyed back during the fall of Al Hazard..."

"The doctor," Uno spoke to Precia, "is a clone of the people of Al Hazard. The incident with the Ground Forces HQ and the Mazoku caused him to remember several key elements of what happened in the past. Including weapons designed to kill them."

"The spear, the mantle, the wings, the shield, the armor and the heart..." Jail grinned as he finished the file transfer. Putting her research notes back, he pocketed his own copy. "Even a single piece can make even the weakest of magic users into a power house. The whole armor together was said to make a person into a god. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ancient Belkan Royalty found a way to mimic the powers of that armor."

"Now what, doctor?" Due asked as Jail told them to leave. Her hands ran over her rear-end. It wasn't that big, was it?

"It's going to take me some time to find if any of the pieces still exist. And if they do, I then need to find where they are..." Oh well, he had some time. "By the way, you didn't forget, did you, Due?"

"Of course not." She smiled at him. "I'll get you everything you need for my cute little sisters soon enough." Due blushed as Jail caressed her face softly.

"I know you will." Jail nodded to her. She was a heck of a masterpiece, all of the Numbers were.

Poor Precia, her health condition never let her rest.
And Jail know abot mazoku and how to fight with them... fascinating idea, i must say.

I'm not completely happy with it, honestly, and I'm sure there are... oh so many problems with it. I'm kind of in an off-mood at the moment. But hey, at least I got something written, right?

I generally only lurk here, but like I said in the review I am kind of meh about the whole power up for Ameratsu and her siblings. Or rather I am meh about how it/the issue is being portrayed.

Reviewed as well! (Yes...I left off reviewing Chapter 26 for nearly three full months, and reviewed Chapter 27 on the day of posting. I am inconsistent, yes.). But hey, now if I can review Chapter 10 of spawn's "Beyond the Edge," I'll have cleared the last item from October out of my in-box backlog!

Spoiler for Wall of text on Power Creep:

Alleged witticisms about my procrastination aside, I do have to agree somewhat with Oseng; as I said in my review, the Power Creep is getting out of hand. The problem is that I can only see one of three things resolving this:

1. Infighting among the enemies permits sufficient levels of power to be wielded against the Dark Side. Maybe Susa or Tsukuyomi lets the befriending take root, or maybe Precia does something big and dangerous to the machinery.

2. The good guys come up with some desperate new magitech to level the playing field. Maybe Jail brings out some AMF early in the timeline (only to have it shuffled out again before anybody can get too close a look at how it was obtained)--actually, this sounds more like something that will be done as the "fake solution" (i.e. "what the heroes decide to do about what they think in the problem before the villains reveal their true, awful intentions"). The problem here is, this magitech now has to cease to exist permanently pre-StrikerS, or else we'll be wondering why the heck they didn't use it then. Unless you move the story to AU status, which would immediately cause a 50% drop in awesome, so I have no suspicion that you'd really do that because, well, the whole point of Infinity is to concentrate as much awesome as is possible in one fanfic.

3. You actually have a productive and creative way out of this. Perhaps some variation on 1 will permit a temporary reduction in power level, allowing our heroes to have one, last, desperate chance to win the big fight (and rip Ammy a new one; seriously, I'm agreeing with Signum about her at this point; the worse Ammy gets the more convinced I am that Enlil is a Complete Monster because no one else would keep her around) and save the day just in the nick of time. Because I have twenty-seven chapters of Infinity and nine chapters of Chaos Theory telling me to trust you, I am going to assume that you have some idea in this general category of "solutions that will not suck."

And you know, not to digress too much, but seeing Infinity reach this moment couldn't help but remind me of Force, and point out to me that, bad as the Power Creep situation is here...it's actually less cliched and annoying than what's happening in the franchise canon right now. Seriously, I'm getting the distinct impression that Signum got impaled because when Cypha regrew her arm, the shark passing by underneath distracted Signum from the fight.

If there was one thing that Zafira could say that he learned in the aftermath of the JS Incident is that being on medical leave sucked big time.

He could understand Shamal’s reasons. After all, he had joined the last fight against Jail’s forces while still injured. As they were no longer connected to the Book of Darkness and depended on their Master as their life source, the Wolkenritter’s healing factor was not as it was before.

He was fine with that although that meant actually sticking with his doctor’s orders. And Shamal, being the mother hen of the group, made sure that everyone took the time to properly heal in the aftermath. The thing is that he had no official military rank and didn’t have to do any paperwork related to the incident. That meant he really didn’t have much to do to pass the time while the others were at work during the day.

Thoughts on where to steer his life continued to bother him. Ginga had mentioned needing a partner for investigations once she finished her work with the Numbers in their rehab program so there was one option. Or maybe he could start a martial arts school and teach children? The thought had some merit.

*BEEP**BEEP*

The sound of an incoming dimensional call interrupted his thoughts. A quick glance towards the display showed him that it was coming from Earth and there were only two people he knew that would be able to contact this world from Earth and connect to this number. “Yagami residence, Zafira speaking.”

The image of a young woman with short orange hair and green eyes popped up on the screen and was surprised to see a blue wolf answering her call. “Zafira…? Is Hayate-chan available?”

He recognized her immediately. Alisa Bannings, one of his Master’s close friends on Earth. “If you are looking for my Master, I am afraid that she is at work and will not be back until late in the evening. I can take a message if you would like.”

“I have to talk to her right away! Suzuka… she’s gone missing!” exclaimed Alisa.

“Missing? Can you explain?”

“She hasn’t reported to her usual classes and stuff and I can’t get a hold of her! It’s strange enough to get local police officers to visit the university campus! If Hayate-chan or Nanoha-chan were available, they could use some magic to easily find her!”

“I do not believe that will be as easy as you would like,” said Zafira in that calm tone of his. “Unless lost logia are involved, Bureau officers are not to interfere in the natural development of events on non-administered worlds. Besides, with the mounting piles of paperwork and reports that have to be completed due to our most recent investigation, it would be difficult for them to be able to obtain permission to transport back to your world and help find your friend. However…”

Alisa leaned forward eagerly. “Yes?”

“As I have no official commission with the Bureau, I am not bounded by such restrictions. If you like, I can-”

He never got a chance to finish. “If you can help me, that would be fine! Here are the transport coordinates to my backyard! When will you be able to come over and start investigating?”

“Within the hour if things go well. Two hours at most.” The queue to process dimensional transfer permissions shouldn’t be too long at this time of the year.

“Alright, I’ll wait for you! Thanks a lot!” That was all she said before she cut the transmission.

He took the time to erase the call from the phone logs. It would be better if the others didn’t something else to stress themselves over when there was still much work to do in the aftermath of the JS Incident. Next was to obtain the permission for transport which should be easy enough by getting it from his fellow Knight. Of course, he knew that she was going to want to know why he wanted to go to Earth so he would have to come up with a decent excuse.

“Just felt a little nostalgic. I want to see some old sights and smell some familiar aromas of our first home.”

“Really? That doesn’t sound like you.” She really was puzzled by his sudden request.

“Who got you that autographed cook book?”

Now that really came out of nowhere. “Huh? What does that have to do with-”

“Who got you that autographed cook book?” repeated Zafira in that calm tone of his.

“… you.”

“Who convinced our Mistress to let you cook the family dinner on Tuesday nights?”

“You?”

“Who helped you practice for your road test?”

“You…”

“Who delivers ten times out of ten?”

She sighed in irritation at how difficult her fellow Knight was being. “Alright, I’ll forward you that permission slip. And if you wanted to keep your reasons private, you could have said so!”

I'm not too pleased with it too. Unlike previous chapters, I wasn't looking forward to the next paragraph in the chapter, let alone the next chapter. So, there weren't any obvious technical errors that caught my attention. This chapter just doesn't feel like it hit all the right notes.

No he doesn't. From the A's to S manga, we know the Bureau had some experience with AMF prior to MC0071.
However, I don't think AMF will be enough. At least not the weak ones installed in his drones. To even slow down those three, they'll need the Cradle's full powered AMF. I don't think Jail could make a mobile version of that even in MC0075, let alone MC0066.

3. You actually have a productive and creative way out of this.

I still have my bets on the Master Gate under the palace being how the Infinite Empire was brought down the first time and will be the key to bringing it down again. A centralized Emipre-wide transportation network? That's just asking for it.
The issue would be to get our hero(ines) into a position to do anything about it.
And I'm not expecting Moczo to say anything about this one way or another.

“Just felt a little nostalgic. I want to see some old sights and smell some familiar aromas of our first home.”

“Really? That doesn’t sound like you.” She really was puzzled by his sudden request.

“Who got you that autographed cook book?”

Now that really came out of nowhere. “Huh? What does that have to do with-”

“Who got you that autographed cook book?” repeated Zafira in that calm tone of his.

“Who convinced our Mistress to let you cook the family dinner on Tuesday nights?”

“You?”

“Who helped you practice for your road test?”

“You…”

“Who delivers ten times out of ten?”

She sighed in irritation at how difficult her fellow Knight was being. “Alright, I’ll forward you that permission slip. And if you wanted to keep your reasons private, you could have said so!”

One nit pick: Alisa doesn't call Hayate "Hayate-chan", just Hayate.

So it'll be Zafira vs Clover, huh? Wonder how much you're gonna borrow from Triangle Heart. Here's hoping that this Alisa doesn't get gangraped and murdered ... Though I guess she's too old for that to happen now :x

I still can't take the title seriously, though. Everytime I see 'ZAFT' I think 'long live coordinators!'

2. I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of cliffhanger.
3. Ammy's lechery has crossed from 'a bit funny' to 'incredibly disturbing'; I hope Signum (or anybody else, just as long it happens) would incinerate that mouth of hers soon.
4. Starlight Breaker is not going to have 'Stripping Beam Mode', is it?
