Interesting interview, I will prepare myself for upcoming drama then. I also think that Ikuno will be the first one to bite the dust. She didn't get any real story development so far and I don't see how she would be any relevant for the upcoming story either. Aside from her wanting to pilot with Ichigo there is nothing really that comes to mind. So most likely she will be the first to die amongst the group after they let her do something heroic first.

About Kokoro and Mitsuru I think those two will not die yet, with the many hints they gave us so far they are surely going to expand that relationship some more in the near future. Ichigo, Goro, Hiro and 02 killing them at this point would be pointless to the plot. Zorome and Miku it's a possibility that they will die, with Miku showing aging signs a death flag is raised but looking at the interview Ikuno would more likely be the first to die. But me just speculating, I'm sure they will give us something unexpected.

About Futoshi I wonder what his added value would be to the story in the later episodes. Aside from the regular ''being fat'' jokes and how he handled the situation when Kokoro chose Mitsuru. I wonder what's left for him in this story and what kind of roll he has left to play.

I do think that house that resembles their home in episode 7 will be important.

I wonder if stampede mode will be used in one of the main characters' final battles? (Not Strelizia, but one of the other mech couples like Ikuno and Futoshi.)
I'm also looking forward to the Ikuno episode and how she deals with feelings for Ichigo.

Maybe Futoshi might pull a heroic sacrifice to save Kokoro and Mitsuru ?

Director pretty much said episode 17 could end up being the ikuno episode from his latest interview.

This is just a guess, but we might have one with Miku narrating around episode 18/19. That might be a good time to have another Miku episode considering how she's started to age and because it feels like we're going to be having an exposition episode soon.

So, they might want to address how she feels and deals with it.

I thought the volume would sell less considering that the cover is with Ichigo, but maybe the Japanese do not hate her as much as Westerners.

In regards to comments about the vol. 2 manga sales... I'm pretty sure the bulk of the negative reactions (especially the death threats) towards Ichigo were actually from Japanese viewers, not Westerners. But honestly? I'm not sure even that warrants surprise over it. Of course the angriest and dumbest opinions are what yell the loudest. Those things aren't always indicative of how many people are on the other side of the fence.

Honestly, I'm in what seems to be a small camp of people who think that Mitsuru and Kokoro won't have sex.

I can totally see Kokoro being the one who wants to, both so she can satisfy this baby curiosity and because she likes him so much. But I don't feel like Mitsuru would be as quick to jump into something like that. I can't say for sure he doesn't feel the same way for her romantically (I was pretty convinced he was somewhere on the ace spectrum), but unless heavily pressured or something, sex doesn't seem like a logical desire for him.

Trigger is not involved with the last 9 episodes anymore they are working on other anime.
