There are glucose cubes. They are easier to be absorbed by cells and have less calories than table sugar.
Mostly they are prescribed to diabetics who cannot use sucrose as a source of energy due to insulin levels.

Sucrose is broken down to glucose and fructose anyway so it's not actually used as a source of energy itself, so as far as I'm aware of they shouldn't have any such problem with sucrose. Glucose tablets are used by diabetics who get hypoglycemic and need a quick supply of sugar to raise their blood glucose levels. Table sugar can work too but nobody carries table sugar with them.
