Casting a spell on you...

It's original function was wish granting, because that is how AM came about. It was " a wish from mankind for an absolute evil" that polluted the Grail in the Third War. But yes, the Grail was originally supposed to bring about wishes, but it's main purpose was to punch a hole with the souls of the Heroic Spirits to Akasha to obtain the third Magic from the other side.

The grail itself is a mass of concentrated prana linked to the origin which is why it had the ability to grant wishes. I think it was more of a something that just occured than something designed to grant wishes. Last edited by Tenchi Hou Take; 2011-05-27 at 19:21. |

I think wish is a tough word to employ here. It's just that the grail has to ability to do almost anything but the wish wasn't the original function. But after the third war, the ability to make a wish was null since it was corrupt, right?

No, it still grants wishes. It just does so in a way which results in the most destruction possible. |

So most likely even if it wasn't possible Alaya would simply show he a parallel world since it's in essence the same as what she wished for. |

It's just that Vigilantia wasn't asking about how it would affect Saber's time breaking contract with Alaya to obtain the Holy Grail and DragoZero probably didn't realise you were reffering to that...

Hmm. I must admit, Saber really got the short end of the stick. So her wish of redoing the selection since the beginning was impossible. And even if she did get the grail (in its pure or corrupted form), it couldn't even "grant" her wish and she would be stuck as a CG; doomed forever to kill the innocent and guilty while growing more and more cynical.
Hmm... This seems like a good premise for a fallen Saber. CG ARTURIA anyone? |

Speaking of Last Episode, is that where shirou reunites with Saber? There was some stuff about Saber consulting a mage in her time to see if it was possible for her to see Shirou again. And the mage was like NO. In any case though, the ending statement, "welcome back", said by saber means that they DID get to re-united...although i do wonder how...
