RWBY would win, because plot armor, but seriously I don't think Coco teams is lacking, It's just Cinder team are guys who

A)Know ACTUAL battle
B) They know first and last about their enemies.

Also, Cinder and Yatsuhashi are hunters, so they've obviously specialised in techniques for taking down large groups of Grimm. Mercury and Emerald seem to be anti-hunters, people who have specialised in techniques for taking down other hunters.

It would seem of course that Cinder is intentionally trying to get not only trying to get her team and team RWBY through, but as of now at least also JNPR and SSSN. There, actually, seems to be a high possibility that ANY of those 4 teams will end up fighting each other.

I, for one, want a RWBY/JNPR fight!
I'm pretty sure RWBY would win due to their teamwork and versatility.

So, nobody commenting on how terrible Coco's melee is and that she never scored a single hit throughout the whole fight?

Winter is quickly growing on me as a favorite character.

And I love the Qrow/Ruby/Yang scene. Very well done.

She's clearly not a close-range combat specialist. At least, she doesn't appear to be against two opponents who are excellent at close range.

In my opinion there's just no sense of urgency anytime RWBY fights, it just feels like "hey, look at how many cool moves we can pull off", kind of the reason I like JNPR so much more they feel like actual characters in an actual fight (in the few they do show of them, also using them as an example because they are about the only other team that matters to the story in some capacity) instead of (imo) a team of Sues (nothing against them).

I am glad this season is focusing more on story and characters than just the fights, as cool as Qrow and Winters fight was it was totally unecessary and added little to their characters that just the talking parts did.

Still, these have been a good few episodes.

I seriously wish there was a JNPR series (if you haven't noticed I like them a lot).

More like Cinder picked the perfect battlefield for Mercury and Emerald.

Not to mention that convenient hallucination Coco had, which makes me wonder if Neo was helping them.

Some people saw someone moving in the foreground and think Neo was.

Yes, that too. Point is Cinder team is in full control. They would probably win either way, but I don't think it would be that one sided on more even terms.

Even if Neo had implemented an illusion there, the match was more or less already decided.

I doubt that, Coco and Yatsuhisa had bad compatibility from the start, so changing terrains still doesn't levels the playing field that much imo.

I don't know... For me, it makes sense if looking at the backgrounds of team RWBY. They also share closer bonds, which would show in their teamwork regardless of their level imo. JNPR, probably due to Jaune, still has that feel of a group of people trying to find each other imo. After this tournament they'll be a pretty strong team though. At least they show more teamwork than Wukong's team lol.

It seens pretty clear that close combat isn't Coco's forte. The fact that her main weapons limits hee mobility so much seems to reinforce this.

Actually, why did she move on with him in the first place. It seemed to me that Fox would have been a better choice, and I can understand Velvet might not want to.

Yeah, I've seen people saying that, but that's not Neo, it's Emerald: It's a white, green and brown blur, after all.

That doesn't necessarily mean Neo wasn't there, though, although it's also possible that Emerald has an illusion-based semblance as well.

RWBY vs. JNPR is such a silly discussion.

JNPR is supposed to be that "rival", that secondary group that isn't as deeply explored as the main characters, but shown to be an equal. Of course RWBY has the upper edge since they're the heroines and all...

But JNPR are ultimately going to be the closest to RWBY's fighting capability. They're going to be the team that does the heavy lifting. And to be frank JNPR has a completely different fighting algorithm than RWBY, with Juane as tactical base, with Nora's unconventional fighting style, Pyrrha's versatile ability, and Ren's dexterity makes them much more adaptive than RWBY in certain situations.

Also, their synergy isn't that far below RWBY. They got team attacks! I mean thats some intricate stuff compared to the other teams.

Weiss and Yang are gonna snap. No matter what country or universe you're in, you do not insinuate a girl to be fat.

I hope Cinder doesn't have access to Tin Girl.

Oh snap! That girl called them fat.

Instant beat down. Poor Jazz man no thanks to his teammate.

Yang and Weiss is really weird choice for ream. Either Yang-Blake or Ruby-Weiss would work better.

Honestly what I REALLY want to see finally happen is Ruby actually duel someone, 1 on 1. We've already seen Yang get her ass handed to her by Neo, Blake destroy Torchwick, and Weiss barely survive against chainsaw... gun man. We haven't really seen Ruby actually fight someone on her own in a real prolonged battle.

In any case this weekend looks like an epic assbeating.

On talk of what we prefer, I'd love to see Jaune have a "Oum" camera angle, or have a battle sequence where he actually shows proficiency at fighting. I can wait til' season 14, doesn't matter if it's only for 10 seconds, but I'm excited for it : )
