Festival of Champions finally updated to 14.2. Excellent ending to the battle. I've never seen a Swanna be more epic (or broken) in the medium between
The characters consider their move variety pretty well, all things considered. Take advantage of Swanna's flying and water dual typing, Air Slash and Tailwind gives her air superiority and Aqua Jet being combined with Tailwind to form Liquidation was a stroke of artistic genius. Even chaining Aqua Ring and Roost together for a potent heal was pretty solid as far as recovery strategies so. Espeon using Psychic to manipulate obstacles around the battlefield and even give it the ability to fly on a tree trunk was ingenious, and using Swift is also a solid attack considering it's range, while Morning Sun is a recovery option. And that was just the initial volley. Work up, Baby Doll Eyes, Hurricane, Dazzling Gleam, Water Pulse, its the kind of fight you'd expect from trainers trying to be pokemon masters and have been putting the effort in. Strategy is the name of the game rather than raw strength and I like it. Using Reflect panels as a shield, a wall to entrap Swanna, and a surface to bounce off out meant that Quick Attack was a solid strategy.

Since Gen 9 got announced, I wonder if the current series wraps up by mid November. Technically, it could still continue, but Dynamax/Gigantamax being the core gimmick of the current region should stop being relevant, so I think they will wrap this up. Hopefully.
Some Legends: Arceus series by Wit is also announced. Nice. |

Ash’s current rank in the championship is 15th. Should be one more battle to get into Master Class and then the matches against the other Master Class members will probably be the last part of the series. So it’s possible for the current series to end this year.

Good to hear.
The new version of the OP also released. B&W Iris (No Princess) is one thing, but freaking Paul is also there! And Ash's Greninja. Plus the new Regis + Regigigas. Bonnie and Clemont too... A part of me thought that since the OP also tease Ash vs. Leon, not to mention plenty of nostalgia starting with Pikachu shocking Ash in his pajamas aka the very first episode, maybe Ash retires at the end of the season? I would be fine with it, but hopefully Goh won't be the next protagonist. |

It doesn't look like every region is going to have a representative in the final rounds. So far we have Cynthia and Flint from Sinnoh, Leon and Raihan from Galar, and Lance from Kanto/Johto. That leaves three slots, and assuming Ash gets a space, that leaves only two more.
Who do you suppose will take them? Hopefully trainers from Kalos, Unova, or Hoenn? Hoping Iris gets to the final rounds. To become the world's greatest dragon master, she needs to defeat Lance. |

So if you have been still sceptical with Ash being Alola Champion and the defeat of Iris, the Unoval Champion, Ash defeated Elite 4 Drasna and go up to Rank 09.
Also, in the last episode Ash defeated Wallace (mostly offscreen) who is former Hoenn Champion. Oh, and Serena came back. Quote:
Also, judging by the preview of the new episodes Ash probably gonna lose the first battle against the Master 8 or Paul in a lower Rank or Paul is a Master 8. Who knows? |

To be honest I never doubted ash skills as trainer, he got what it takes to be a champion, sinnoh region proved that, it just nobody is happy that he became a champion of an unknow league without history, it's like machester city that had never won the champions league go an won the hawaii football league with only the locals as rivals... nobody would care.

Sinnoh was the last time Ash had the chance for a legitimately earned Pokemon League win, sure, some of you may claim that Kalos is the one but he was never going to win that one from the moment they introduced Alain a.k.a. the better Ash. It was written all over that season, but people ignored it, and no, Alain won fair and square and the match up was on his side, remember that Charizard was using Mega X, he was a dragon that made BS-Greninjas attacks less effective.
The Alola win is just insulting to watch, not only is it the weakest Pokemon League, but unlike in other Leagues Ash had to resort to using a legendary, a UB and outright cheating with his Rowlett, why should anyone respect that basically gifted win? Now in this season they threw away the formula for the anime and chose to make it all a convient tournament arc, where he can just go with his fanservice team composed of literally every single Pokemon fans have asked he was given in past seasons and battle anyone from Gym Leader level to Champion level without having to prove himself in a gym. Sorry but his old achievements from Kanto to Sinnoh are far more impressive than anything he does now, because fans know that he actually earned those achievements from the past.

Nevertheless, in the World Coronation series, he did manage to defeat both an Elite Four and Champion-level opponent, being Drasna and Iris respectively. Not to mention he also beat Wallace, even if the dude isn't participating in the new tourney... |
