Hato and Madarame's interactions keep getting more and more awkward.
I wonder how much Madarame is aware that the way Hato acts is not normal for a boy who simply likes to crossdress. Hato completely changes his gender identity when he does that to an almost dissociative level. Also at this point the kind of interest Hato shows toward Madarame and the desire to be with him and know more about him are dangerously looking like a crush to me. I don't think that the "BL fantasies" alone can explain all that and I'm beginning to think that the reason Hato was so opposed to Madarame's virginity being stolen by Angela had a meaning deeper than he himself is aware of.

The can looked different this time around and I was wondering if the anime had had a change of heart and brought her drinking habit back.

Another fantastic episode. A whole lot of Hato and Madarame, and you'll never hear me voice even the faintest complaint against either of them getting more screen-time.
I really liked the scene in Madarame's apartment, where it started off with Madarame acting apologetic and scared that he might've been too forward with the sex-talk, and then Hato completely turned the tables on him. I also think that Madarame really has matured as a character. As you point out, he hasn't outgrown his interests, but he's gained a new perspective on them. But he's still essentially the same guy, and I think that kind of subtle, believable character development is really great. I actually like him even more now than I did during the original series, and that's really not something I expected to happen.

Well in the previous episode they couldn't have everyone drinking alcohol like they were in the manga because of rules against depicting minors getting drunk. But if they just had Yoshitake drinking beer, it would've given away the surprise about her age. This time around they didn't have to worry about that, so she could have beer while Yajima was stuck with soft drinks.

Are you sure about the rule about showing minors drinking alcohol? Didn't notice anything significant about the can thing here, but shows like Minami-ke has characters getting accidentally drunk who are minors. As well as few other shows.

It does seem that anime are very peculiar about not showing minors drinking alcohol. I've seen a few times minors getting drunk for comedic purposes but that usually happens because they were tricked into drinking that or without their knowledge.
This is also true for smoke. You'd sooner see an underage anime character kill and rape than smoke and drink.

Yeah, while i've seen minors drinking in some shows eventually, especially by accident or for comic value, smoking is a bigger no-no. |
