A club would feel more caveman-like. At least fists are used in martial arts and can even be seen as an old gentleman way of dealing with stuff. I just wished Denken had said "EAT MY FIST MAGIC!" instead of "This is a fist-fight now!". Old man is based af. XDDD

Nothing against headbuts, but for mages their brain is quite necessary so it's better avoid concusion...

When I read Himmel part of chapter I couldn't help it remember HEA, then I naturally started read word Grimoire in as goblin. Was it pointless? Definitely but I found it quite funny, especially mimic part...

Finally a character puts into words what has been obvious to me for a while now. The fact that Fern is extremely talented. I was arguing with someone about this in this thread some weeks ago. I hope this chapter puts that matter to rest for good.

Personally, I think Fern has the potential to become the strongest human mage of her generation.

Nah, Fern will be the strongest human mage instead of Frieren. Frieren is an elf, as the examiner already admit her as the last Great Mage alive.

Her being trained by Frieren when everyone else has to rely on either "normal" (relative to Frieren) teachers or their own raw ability is also kinda unfair TBH

I was rereading the first chapters, and one of the first thing Frieren did was remark that Fern was good, even before training her. She did it several times. So it's not all Frieren. It may not even be mostly Frieren. We've no idea if she's a good teacher or not.
