This is an image of her looking pouty and sad. She's is still captured in episode 13 and probably sad about that. We may get to meet her father. It's not like she lacks things to be sad about.

We also get her bubbly salute and smile. Looks very perky in the shot.
Maybe... But I was expecting Kallen/Lulu to get a lot of loves in the new OP/ED.

At the begining right after Lelouch, we see C.C., Nunnaly, Schneizel, Suzaku. Then it loops again to C.C., Nunnaly, Schneizel, Suzaku. But no love for Kallen.

I'm a bit angry and upset

I KNEW IT!!! I knew Rollo was going to be the one who killed Shirley! And he did! Wait until Lelouch finds out the turth, you little....!!!!
I feel really bad for Lelouch. His crying face breaks my heart. TT_TT

Second OP thoughts: I don't have many thoughts on the OP since everything went by so fast =_='...And it seems to be in pretty confusing order (to me) with all the Knightmares and people... and Ninja.=_=' C.C. didn't appear much, but her standing in the moonlight with soft expression kind of worries me a little.

Second ED thoughts: Since I'm Lelouch x C.C. fans...I LOVE THIS ENDING!!! ^0^ But again...it worries me. C.C. arms are wings (or turning into wings) Like everyone else said, she looks like a goddess...Lelouch is confined (did I use the right word?) with chain...They both have sad expressions on their faces...They hugged each other (seems pretty tight to me.)...It's like he's stuck there while she's gotta go somewhere..far away...But they don't want to let go.
I know...it's all my wild thoughts Hahaha. Other than Lelouch x C.C....I see that there is no Kallen...WHY??? TT_TT And a lot of characters are missing in the ED (while they put all in the OP which go by so fast you can hardly recognize them without watching it for a few times)

P.S. In the ED, Lelouch started with C.C. and he ended with Suzaku, LOL

Ah, it's comforting in a way
Oh Shirley ;_; I'm so upset ...I hope her death will at least serve the purpose of bringing Lelouch and Suzaku to some kind of small understanding.

It was a good episode, and although heartbreaking for me (and Lelouch), I'm glad her death wasn't a complete joke like Euphemia's (not that Euphie's death wasn't sad, I just didn't want a repeat). I guess she's finally reunited with her father now

Many nice elements/symbolism in this episode. However the potential of these elements/symbolism are compromised because of how poor the execution was (Euphie for example - general idea/symbolism was fantastic, execution made the scene almost laughable). Although, this may just be me seeing the majority doesn't seem to feel the same way.

It's good to hear Rollo has done something useful for the show. He's done nothing really worth noting since his introduction. This is true Sunrise fashion - characters often die to progress the development of other characters.

That was how my non-CG watching friend described it, as I mentioned the incident to him.

Euphie: See above.

Rolo: Well, I think most of us are gunning for his death. Don't make it a heroic one.

Kallen and Lelouch aren't officially together, yet. Why would they give away their big moment in the OP/ED when their big scene may come at the latter part of the season?

Yo do know that if they get together that the relationship will pretty much consume a large part of the show given that Kallen will not just be a simple "sit on the sidelines girlfriend" character. She would be in the middle of everything.

Having them making out in the intro or getting all touchy just wouldn't fit right now. Their relationship was ignited but it was again delayed to tie up loose ends. Kallen gets captured, something happens to Shirley. KallenxLelouch is having a little time out to get some loose ends tied up so things can run smoothly later on when it counts. The writers could have gone the run the love triangle thing with Shirley,Lelouch, and Kallen but decided to isolate the two girls from each other when dealing with the male love interest. It's like they may not want to sully any fantasy style romance between Lelouch and Kallen with petty love triangle drama. They may just want them to get together, bond, and act as the King/Queen power couple going around killing things. It fits with the chess stuff. Anyhow, notice how both have some sort of flower associated with them? Lelouch is associated with a black orchid and Kallen is associate with a red lotus! They'll be a really cheesy "in love" couple. Red Lotus and Black Orchid outfits? Aren't they pretty much the only color coded and flower associated characters? Black Orchid King and Red Lotus Queen!

Lelouch's reaction to shirley's death is different than his reaction about Euphie. He was really really really (really) sad/mad in this episode. He cried a lot then went AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Shirley was really important. As Dann of Thursday said it, I'm afraid of him staying single from now, because of Shirley's death.

Me I'm not enjoying her death in any way.

He steeled himself for that one, because he had work to do.

Shinn Asuka reference: I'm sure Lulu won't get that idea...would he?

Spoiler for episode thoughts:
At first like you I thought Rolo should die, but IMO that might be letting him off. Instead of killing I'd like for him to really suffer. I think Lelouch should find the most deepest most darkest cell he can find and throw Rolo in it. Then he should mind wipe him leaving only the memory of Shirley dying in his head. So he can experience Shirley dying over and over again. Rolo wouldn't even remember his own name when everything is said and done.

You know I bet that Lelouch ends up with nobody. I mean honestly, how often have you seen a Sunrise anime where the main characters relationships don't either end in tragedy, inconclusively or just plain platonic. There's like Metal Armor Dragonar with the wedding scene at the end and that's about all I can think of right off the top of my head.

No, he should leave Rolo with only the memory of Lulu abandoning him in that cell.

He can cry and scream all he wants, and it won't bother me at all. Just as long as he did not say the dreaded "I love you, don't leave me..." to Shirley...

.... Afterall, she did confess....

Kallen, my queen, go for the win!!
