Guys keep in mind that they are very unlikely to touch on anything from the Bad Endings, for obvious reasons. Granted I would love it if they do, but they are obviously really short on time to afford to do that. Given a significant portion of Yumiko's route clashes with other ones it's understandable that they will have to modify it a lot.

On another note, Yuuji was pretty boss against those suits.

I changed mind, I will indecesively drop it now. Best girl story ended and while Yumiko is still best, neither of these two arcs impressed me even bit. I don't know about VN, but story so far is... well boring and AFAIC lacking good writing. It doesn't give me impression "whole story" is worth knowing in first place.

I might feel like watching it next week afterall, or might return to it sometime in future, but eitherway I don't realy care.

Wow, gotta say that I didn't think they could cram a whole route into 1 episode. Was rather impressed with the original direction they took with it. Though it was a rush job to be sure, the general message and theme of Yumiko's route wasn't lost & I enjoyed watching the new content even as an LN player.

What's more, at least now this gives further indication that there won't be a reset after each heroine route. Always felt something like that cheapens the value of an anime series as a whole to be honest.

So... Yumiko's route was crammed into a single episode? Really?
I think I'll save myself the pain of watching 4+ Amane episodes and drop this now... Looks like they're planning to make her route insufferably long in the anime as it was on the VN.

only maximum 4 episodes anyway. Makina has 2 eps allocated to her name

Damn, I'll be honest, one episode? rushed like that? What a let-down. I mean, she told the whole story in a sort of infodump way to a person she barely speak to

Quite awful, felt like one of those recap episodes some shows have half way that you usually skip.
Obviously it doesn't help Yumiko is my favorite girl, so now that they already did her arc, and done in this way, for me it's hard to find the interest in keep on watching. Also she barely appeared before, now there's no reason to appear even more.

Considering also that I agree that letting aside the comedy, the story so far felt uninspired, but that could be also due to the cut they made/short time.

Huge cuts for the first half, and an anime-original second half... can't say I disliked it, and I can see why they are doing that as Yumiko ( and Sachi route) were one of the lowest ranked routes out of the five.

Also, doing it this way allows them to reconnect with the main route.

So judging by the voice at the end Sachi's route is next?

Yumiko only gets one episode? Doesn't bother me one bit. >_> I also heard she had one of the weaker routes. Getting to watch this one as an anime only viewer though, I will say that I don't feel like I missed anything and that the overall message was conveyed.

Yea, definitely have to give credit to the director and those in charge.
Not often do you see many people go "Yea its very rushed, but I think I got everything that was important"

Usually just "rushed" and complaints that it was confusing and erratic.

And there goes my favorite route,the one with the best romance and least pacing issues,even if it has a rather generic plot.

More next week on Grisaia,the tl;dr version.

Shame this isn't a "so bad it's good" type of series,else the anime would've been quite enjoyable as a comedy.

However...

In the credit there's a "Script Assistance" line featuring Kio Nachi (Yumiko arc writer) and Fujisaki Ryuuta (Main writer). It could just be that the stuff was adapted from their works, or there's actual collaboration with them during the process of alteration

I do agree that it's quite a rush and should have at least been extended to 2 eps. However the writing is actually more enjoyable than the mediocrity of the VN's writing. Will look forward to how they're gonna handle Makina's arc so that Yuuji doesn't lose an arm like in the novel.
