To make it only understandable to Acejem/PocariSweat, that timing is like when Terran just expanded and is setting up barracks but the Protoss attacks with a 4 gate but the Terran can't micro for shit because force fields are flying all over the place... PA is that terran.

Chiahaya's seiyuu plays Miyamoto, and her osananajimi (possibly) is named Taichi.
Sakai is played by the seiyuu who played Taichi as a sixth-grader. Chihaya's seiyuu is trying to get five members together to form a new club. All in all, a better premiere than I expected. There may be just irony here for this show to work. Unfortunately? I think you meant to say "Thank God"...

Ah, so that choir song was from True Tears OP after. It sounded familiar when I heard it during the episode, but couldn't figure out from where it was from. Now I know.
Twin Tail girl and Pony Tail girl gets me confused as well when they they look too similar. |

Yep, also getting the brunettes confused. Isn't that why we have strange hair colors in anime?
Really liked this. The backgrounds are stunning and I really care about these characters. Looking forward to next time. |

I listened again, and Konatsu does say "ero-hon" ("erotic books," porn mags), rather than something more general. Maybe the fact that porn mags are sold more widely and openly in Japan than in other countries makes them more attractive to teen boys. And I get the sense that magazines in general are still more popular there than they have become elsewhere. But probably the line is just an anachronism perpetrated by writers who are older than the characters they are creating.
Clean classroom: could that be the result of the students actually sweeping it up themselves after class, as they apparently do in Japan? I know the paid cleaners wouldn't like it, but I have always thought that Japanese custom was a good one. In that scene where Wien is kneeling in front of the class, I really liked the complex way Seto Asami (Konatsu) said: "Dogesa?" (kneeling in apology).

That's my take on it, yeah. If students clean it themselves, and if they value cleanliness, it's going to be very clean. A Janitor will do a decent job, but he doesn't have to actually stay in either of those classrooms for several hours a day, so he might not care that much about cleanliness.

P.A Works showing once again they could have done a very good yuri story if they wanted but they just rather stick with the normal, I just can't help but think this series could improve by 10x if was yuri (to be fair pretty much anything could improve by being yuri =X), well... gonna watch anyway.

As to your identification of the young girls during the OP, how do you know who they are and what their relationship is? The darker-haired one does look like a young version of the music teacher. The jogger also does seem to be the music teacher. As for me, the school girls are cute enough, but that music teacher, as cold and cruel as might seem to be, is a very attractive woman. Something we don't often see in high school oriented animes. And we do seem to have at least two bucket loads of drama looming. Whatever it is that makes the music teacher so miserable, and what seems to be bothering Sakai so much that she gets so mad and yells at Miyamoto? Perhaps something to do with the child we saw at the beginning of the episode? Just a guess. Sakai also seems to be a recent, perhaps very recent, transfer student. Not only hinted at by the conversation with the pregnant teacher, but her bookshelf was empty, and boxes piled up at home. And which boy do you think will be taking supplementary classes with her next week? In reflection, I must say that the anime staff did a pretty good job, for a first episode, and within the limited time frame, of characterizing the main cast so that the audience has a general idea of their personalities, and can readily identify them. Miyamoto got the most treatment, obviously because she's the catalyst for the independent choir. And she was darn cute practicing her singing in public. |

In the midst of feeling very negative about the vice-principal, I realized that her seiyuu was doing a great job to make me feel that way -- while leaving a hint that she may be redeemed by show's end. She's played by Tanaka Atsuko, who was Kusanagi Motoko in all the Ghost in the Shell animes (and is now 49 years old).

Good opening episode to what I'm personally hoping will be at least an equal to HanaIro in terms of character interaction and story.
I too didn't realize the brunettes were different girls until I saw Sakai sans horse at the flower shop. At that point, I was able to tell them apart by counting the ponytails I'm enjoying Tanaka's repartee with the FNG already. Did we ever hear that kid's name, by the way? Quote:

Liked this alot, very nice is what I got from it apart from the animation which was better than very nice.
When I'm picking out such details as dirt on a CGI train I know I'm looking at something good First off Konatsu wasn't quite what I was expecting, altho tbh I'm not sure or I couldn't put it down in words what exactly I thought she might be but not what we got. Which I have to say I do like alot. She's got a nice flare to her personality I simply wasn't expecting, good surprise there. And god I love Sawa's causal clothes, it was something that caught my attention in the PVs before airing but I had actually forgetten about it until I saw her in that get up <3 This will be staying on my weekly watch list.
