I see the theme of the story in two directions. Trust is one way of looking at it, the consequences of the lies (and to forgive that lie) is another.
The story always progress in a fashion where the characters spiral into a dead end because of lies and deceit, and eventually move out of it by learning to be honest with themselves and their surroundings.

Which is why I am extremely grateful that both Rena and Ryusei made it out alive in the end.
As their sins did not originate from themselves but the lies of the others. As someone who had earned their trust and redemption, they should not die as the consequences of other's lies.

I'd say it's been two years since the final fight I mean Neene didn't look all that much older and as for ende she probably absorbed more memories since then

it has been a fun ride with series, I remember going right into this manga after I had just finished Chrono crusade (and then got pissed off due to how the anime got a butchered ending but that's not a topic for this thread.) and it seemed kind of weird at first with it being more Bleak then Chrono but I loved almost all of the characters and the story was well paned out. It also did a better job with the awkward surrogate family consisting of two super powered teenagers and artificial child then Sword art online did (sorry Sword art fans) that said I was sad to see this series go and I feel it was a shame it never got an anime (seriously I always imagined Micah Solusod as Riku's dub VA too) but at least it got great closer and we've got Kimi Shi ni Tamafu Koto Nakare to look forward too even though Moriyama is only doing the art and not the story

This is my last entry for World Embryo, since I want to fulfill two objectives:

1. The first to let you know that as of today the last, epilogue chapter to the manga has finally been released translated.

2. The second to give my review for the last chapter.
World Embryo ended slightly more than two years ago, and back then I finished the whole series through the raws, however, the last four chapters were still pending for translation.

Flash forward two years later, and I'm glad I'm completely done with the story.

What I did not get with the raws until the last chapter got translated was that Riku told one last lie to the world in order to become humanity's enemy, a.k.a Suraga. However, he underwent this course of action in order to search for Renas' memories scattered worldwide.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I also understood as well were:
1. After the Coffin reactivated, people worldwide (that included FLAG members) lost any memories and knowledge of Riku Amami.
2. That Rena's memories served as antibodies in order to fend off or prevent future Kanshu epidemics, though that didn't necessarily mean humanity as a whole was spared from future kanshu infections.
3. In turn, this allowed for Jinki users to eventually create their own jinki cores without having to resort relying forever on using only Renas' memories as base cores.
4. Likewise, Riku followed a path similar to Takao at the beginning of the story, however, the whole difference lied that Riku did not went into a vengeful frenzy. While he purposefully took on the mantle as enemy of Flag by infecting people, he kept the infections sustainable. That and couple with Renas' memories serving as antibodies it allowed for lower spread and lower infection rates.
5. Adding as well that for Flag it helped them tremendously that now Kanshu infection could no longer spread through electromagnetic waves.
6. I assume that FLAG eventually found a way to replicate the purifying properties of Renas' memories by studying them. At the beginning, they might have had use Renas' memories as cores but to copy their properties and then later infusing them into their own cores. I'm stating this theory based on the fact that Jinki users no longer destroy Kanshu, but by tracing, discovering, and purifying the source of infection. Once the source of infection is purified, it reverts back to a human along with all other infected subjects, as the last chapter displayed.

7. Last but not least, Takao's final match with Riku played two objectives:
- To make Riku to realize that he no longer had to lie in order to keep on taking the burden at restoring Rena all alone and by himself.
- And, to let it known the truth about Suraga's identity to Rikus' former friends and allies at FLAG.

It was an okay ending. I mean, it could have ended so much worse. And it looks like everyone is having their good ending so far.

It was an satisfying ending for me. Everything was resolved for and everyone got a happy ending or at least an ending that suited them.

it's about frigging time, and pretty good ending made more clear from translations, hopefully Moriyama will do another manga down the line (besides Thou Shalt Not Die, that manga isn't very good but hey Moriyama is just doing the art and not the story to that so doesn't count)
