OK, guys, got a question here for you.
And no, me being here wasn't because of that possible Anime announcement, but it sure turned out to be quite the timing

My reason for being here is for simple: I was thinking of, maybe, picking up this story, but the synopsis is quite vague, so I wanted to know more about it, if it has something that makes it stand out from other VRMMO-related stories.

Art grabs you immediately. The premise is that after some horrible VRMMORPG games, Infinite Dendrogram was released out of nowhere and was an instant hit. The story follows Ray Starling as a late starter. The gameplay is detailed enough and revolves around embryos/zanpakutos. Every player/Master is given one and it evolves according to each individual player, granting unique skills and abilities. An embryo can evolve up to 7 forms, growing more powerful with each one, and maters who've reached the 7th form are rare. Classes, or jobs as they're called, are changeable.

As for the world itself, the game is highly realistic and the NPC, called tians, are indistinguishable from real people, but do not have embryos. It's a total mystery as to whether this is really a game and it's pretty much confirmed the world has its own history. The creators of the game in real life have never been mentioned to my knowledge and the story rarely touches on real life.

All in all, a solid story with unique characters and plenty of passion behind it. Personally, I have some gripes with it but people seem to like it enough.

That's all fine and interesting...setting-wise. But I'd like to know what's the stakes of this story, since the Real World, as you mentioned, is scarcely touched upon.
You don't need to worry about spoilers, they might even convince me to pick up this story

Like he said, NPCs(tians) are indistinguishable from real people, and unlike players, they never come back if they die.
Because the game world is so realistic, the player base is split between those who think it's just a game and those who feel it's another reality. The MC is one of the latter. He has tian friends and just generally doesn't want to see them suffer, so he often fights powerful monsters, evil tians, and dickhole/foreign players to protect them.

OK... So, you mean to say there isn't some huge threat or anything of the sort so far, majorly the MC bonding with NPCs and getting into incidents with them, while possibly trying to ascertain if said game world is really a game or another reality.

No, there's definitely some big stuff going on.
The MC's in-game country and one of its neighbors are at war, the players who were so bad they got banned from the main world are planning an escape, there's implications of a huge conspiracy going on at the development level, etc.
It doesn't limit itself to small-scale happenings.

They wanted to sneak into Tenchi unnoticed, but that's all gone now that a Master saw them. They won't silence him even if they kill him. What happens next depends on whether Ray knows them (probably does, considering he was shocked, not to mention he could've seen Sechs' and Candy's wanted posters.) I'm expecting a conversation. Sechs must be curious about the brother of his mancrush.

Gerbera got killed before she got a wanted poster, and Candy and Sechs have been locked up for a while, so I doubt that their wanted posters (if they even had any) are gone. Ray has job skills to look at statuses, but they could well have items to avoid that. The smart move would be to just make up a story to tell him.
