Ok, my presumptions were wrong. According to here:
http://twitter.com/#!/peppercats/sta...78306730156032 Aya Endou will be doing the voice of Akko. Someone in /u/ also mentioned that Mikoi Sasaki (the one who did Hecule in Milky Holmes) will doing Mari. The drama CD will cost 2000 yen and will be released around January of next year: http://s-prism.net/pb2/

The last thing to ever scanlated, an omake:
Interestingly enough, Milk Morinaga rather preferred an ending where the couple were in their separate ways. Thank god the editors stepped in.

Because all the fandom would have raeged wept xD although *technically* they did go to separate colleges.
Oh well if an anime does happen, prepare for extremely anomalous weather. Heavy fog and glaring light are predicted.

Also, belated thanks for the update on the drama CD - last I'd heard it was starting to sound like vapourware, so a cast and approximate release date are great news. Along with many celebratory toasts of Kahlua and milk!

Squeeeee!
Spoiler for Drama CD cover:
According to Morinaga's blog the CD will be on sale at the Comic High! booth at Winter Comiket, but she's not sure about general retail. Also, she has a cold and seems a bit depressed about the future of yuri manga under Tokyo's revised youth development law

(Speaking of Comic High!, I'm gutted that I won't be at Comiket to visit their booth. At C77 they were giving away these bags (NSFW) - people were quite happily walking around with them at Big Sight, though I have to say I stuffed mine into a more respectable bag from Ichijinsha before getting on the train...) Anyway maybe I'm just blinded by fanboy wuv, but I don't see how a GF anime could be anything but a commercial success: it's the perfect combo of cute, sexy, funny and sweet, the cast and staff would have a ball bringing the characters to life, and being cynical you could say it's girly and romantic without being lesbian enough to scare off the wider male audience Btw this blog post had the most comprehensive CD cast list I've seen yet - has anyone seen confirmation of this? Mari - Sasaki Mikoi Akko - Endou Aya Sugi - Kobayashi Yuu Tamamin - Kanai Mika Quote:
You gotta love Morinaga's imagination: I probably shouldn't admit to this in a public forum, but there's something disturbingly erotic about the whole concept of Tiny Akko. Maybe she'll pop up again in some future doujinshi - Girl Friends: The Untold Story

Oh, it's over now?
Hmm. I gave up on it months ago when I figured out that even after twenty-seven chapters, there wouldn't actually be any yuri in this yuri manga. Sigh. At least they kissed a few times. That's better than most "yuri."

Director: Shimazawa Midori (more detail at ja.wikipedia)
Akko: Endou Aya Mari: Sasaki Mikoi Tamamin: Kanai Mika Sugi-san: Kobayashi Yuu Kuno-chin: Kitta Izumi Taguchi: Seto Asami (yay! Takatsuki!) Naru-chan-sensei: Hagai Mari (not in ANN, link is to ja.wikipedia) Tamatsukuri(?)-sensei: Kawahara Yoshihisa (not sure about the character name, see spoiler below) Female student: Kaneko Mika Spoiler for Chapters 33-35:
Amagasa-san seems pleasantly surprised that a woman is directing the CD - Shimazawa does sound like an experienced director, so I think we're in safe hands there. Roll on January 28th!

All right, who's up to read French?!!! Because the first volume of Girl Friends will be released on February 10:
http://www.taifu-comics.com/index.ph.../GIRLS-FRIENDS Seriously guys, there has to be a way to convince one of the U.S. manga companies to license this. Like some sort of campaign that shows that we are willing to buy and support the title. On another note, has anyone check out the drama CD?

I was a big fan of Milk's short story. But all about Girl Friends completely slipped my mind because it was bimonthly in the beginning.
I didn't think at all there is a Milk's thread in this forum. And I read all 5 volumes last week at once. ...Definitely, Morinaga Milk is goddess of yuri and Girl Friends is the bible of yuri. Of course I pushed "buy" button of CD drama already. |

EDIT: I checked the Comic High entry on Amazon and indeed Nana and Hitomi from Kuchibiru appear in the cover. This is NOT Girl Friends, even if it looks like it: http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/...a-22/ref=nosim
