So 8 episodes? For one volume? Is this even an OVA anymore?

It starts with Kuro no Kennagi. There was no word that it will only adapt this one. It's not clear yet how far it will go.

From the text I can read in the article, the OVA series official title is "Strike the Blood II". It seems this is officially a second season of the anime but in the form of OVAs.

There is a text that says the OVA series starts from Vol 9's arc, suggesting it will cover more arcs. I'm guessing the first and second OVA volumes which will be released in November and December will cover Vol 9, and the third and fourth OVA volumes which will be released in March and April next year will cover another arc (maybe Vol 10). It only says the planned release dates for the four OVA volumes, so it's possible there will be more OVA episodes.

Too bad they skipped Vol 7 & 8 in the anime.

I think it's because most of Vol 7 & 8 are flashbacks. My concern is what are they going to do about the important stuff that occur in the present time in Vol 7 & 8? The only real important part in Vol 7 is Asagi finding out about Kojou being the 4th progenitor though, so maybe they will change how she finds out in the anime and include it in Vol 9's arc. Is there any part important in Vol 8 other than the flashbacks?

No, the OVAs from last year are stand-alone.

^Maybe because Yukina is not main center or rarely appear in Avrora arc.

IMO They should make OVA about Kojou & Avrora past or how Kojou became 4th Primogenitor, it's very important but oh well..i guess Yukina and her"iie senpai" is more important for them.

This is just a second season but they used OVA for the sole purpose of selling more, that way the studio can earn a bit more.

And as always Yukina a shit and La Folia the best.

From what I know LN volumes that mostly cover events in the past rarely get more than one anime episode because they usually are not very important to the main storyline.

I hear that Vol 7 & 8 together make up the flashback arc. Is there anything in the flashbacks that ends up importantly addressed in Vol 9 & 10? If not then it's understandable that they would skip straight to Vol 9 because this OVA series is more like a second season that continues the focus on the main storyline and flashbacks are more like side stories. I do know that Avrora becomes important starting from Vol 11 so if they are planning on adapting the flashbacks they probably will do it just before Vol 11.

^Flashblack =/= Side stories

if you really think Kojou's past before became 4th Primogenitor, Origin of Avrora and the real relationship between Kojou & Avrora (Kojou got his memories back and the feel about how he got force to kill his first love) are just side stories then i have nothing to say.

^Well the thing is in many cases flashbacks end up look like side stories when they're adapted into anime.

That is unfortunately true. I mean I see comments saying "is this a filler" or "This is another damn filler" etc. happens to often. I personally like the flashback of STB to be the best part of the series. Then again I was able to read it when it was unlicensed. Anyways~

A powerless but badass (shota) Koujo, who made his own sister fall in love to. I'll happy to watch it.

So happy they decided to take this method for the continuation of the anime (much better than getting no 2nd season).

They are releasing the four volumes in two blocks. Block one with a November/December release, block two with a March/April release. Considering that one volume contains two episodes we are getting four episodes within a four week span. That's good enough.

But why call it an OVA(Original Video Animation), when it is being based of the ln? I think it would be better to call it a short series or something along those lines.

Either way, I'm gonna grit and bear and buy the yp translations

OVA is, by large, nowadays, a definition of Anime episode-length releases outside of TV airing.
