I'm going to feel like such an idiot posting this

I have all the music files installed properly and my computer is running in japanese...

The patch still is saying
"you are either missing some music files or they are unreadable"

I want to play this game so bad, please help

If anyone else is having problems getting the patch to work, try using this update:
http://www.mediafire.com/?iydonw52vit

Just unzip it, stick it in your patch folder and replace the one that's already there.
Let us know if it works.

It should also fix the bug that Starks mentioned.

There probably isn't much that can be done to help me right now, but I'm having issues getting the patch installed on my Mac. I'm running Snow Leopard and everything works fine until it asks me to insert my game DVD.

The computer recognizes it, but the installer doesn't and acts like I haven't inserted it. Any and all help would of course be appreciated.

Thank you so much!

I had the same problem with the with the missing BGM's in the folder on the installation disc. Turns out it wasn't only 翼.ogg, but Ｒｅｑｕｉｅｍ.ogg as well.

Can you tell me what the name of the disc is, as it shows up on the desktop?

It works. You just have to overwrite the save.

Okay, thanks. On the first pressing of the disc the name shows up as '_________EP5', which is what the installer is looking for. It looks like they must have corrected the name of the disc in a later pressing. I will update the installer so that it accepts either name. If you really want to play right away, try the following:

- Copy the installer package out of the disc image to your desktop.
- Control-click the package and select "Show Package Contents".
- Navigate to Contents/Resources, and control-click on UminekoInstaller and select "Show Package Contents".
- Navigate to Contents/Resources. There should be a 'configuration.xml' file in there. Open this in TextEdit.
- Change the contents of the discName tag to うみねこのなく頃に散ＥＰ５ (copy and paste it from the name of the disc, or from here, if you can't type that.)
- Save the file, close all of the windows, and try running the installer again.

Or, you can wait a few hours and I'll hopefully have a fixed installer posted.

Edit: I got it to work. However it seems you missed a character in your post.
Here is what I used after learning that Copy is used to copy text: うみねこのなく頃に散 ＥＰ５

2nd Edit: Or perhaps not..its hanging on Resource Files fullsrc/arc.nsa
I probably did something wrong, so I'll just wait for the updated patch.

Found a small save bug.

When I'm at this screen and I go to save, as soon as I click where I want to save, the program immediately closes without saving.

I just tried to save, at a different point, and my game just crashed as well.

I'm playing on a Mac, so I have a crash report, if it would help at all. I can't make sense of anything on it though.

I can also update with a screenshot if needed. I was much further in than peachgirldb.

Edit: Well, I'm not sure what happened. I loaded up, and mine actually did save just before it crashed. I'm able to save to new slots and overwrite old ones with no issue. Maybe that error report above will help though.

Edit 2: Well, hell. Apparently it is specific to certain points of the game. If I attempt to save at this point, I have no issue:
