Read it There's a reason he's a delta, and I really admire this guys patience. Unlike most protags, who don't even seem offended or have a hint of pride, he's fully aware the group treating him like shit and does nothing cause he knows that's just asking for a mauling. Notice his monologues show he's not as thrilled to be placed on a team of girls. Out of 4 of them, 2 actively hate his guts and flat out say he'll never be a true member. The third doesn't hate him, but messes with him to the point she might as well does. And the 4th who actually likes him but is too shy to tell her group to lay off.

Yeah, Harem FTW (Sarcasm).

@ Senpai - Question: If Ichika placed his name on a dating site, what do you think would happen?

Side note - Did you read it?

Spoiler for Silverback's Beta Phase:

Any thoughts? Oh and I got a question about the ISA students.

If they noticed one of their fellow classmates or someone they know is acting rather odd and happens to go off on their own recently (practically without saying anything), would they follow closely behind to find out what's going on with him/her?

most probably yes. They are very nosy when it comes to possible trysts.

I think we should just get this in the clear: Other than a slight sense of superiority, IS students are no different from the average. They're not alien, nor are they specialists or trained soldiers: They're just average teens that you'd see in every harem manga/anime.

Most of the population is anyway. Just ordinary teenaged girls without an iota of a clue of exactly how much power they have. All they know is that they can flatten a country given a few days. But beyond that, they don't know the complications nor do they have the actual experience. At best they have gladiatorial experience as well as synchronized team combat. A large scale battle will get them killed.

Say, would a country come under fire if they have more than one Personal IS unit?

Swee, what is the common reasoning for having that number of Personal ISes? Kinda need it for the next chapter as I'm introducing three transfer Cadets, two from Singapore and another from Finland.

There's usually one 1 personal cadet since their date is applied for the other one/two. No multiple reps from multiple countries. Germany has only 2 units, and the only rep is Laura.

Ah, right! Actually, only one of the Singaporean transfer students is a Cadet rep while the other is simply a test pilot who wants to enroll in the Academy.

Their units however, are of the same lineage despite the difference in statuses of the pilots.

Status has nothing to do with it. Laura's a soldier, Rin's a commoner, Charlotte's a bastard child, and Cecilia's a noble. They'd take the poorest girl over the princess of the country if she had a higher ranking.

Actually there are multiple cadet reps. This is only to the effect that if the current top cadet proves themselves incapable of acting as proper representative or if their performance drops, the next one in line takes their place.

The personal IS unit is limited mostly to 1 unit so not every cadet representative is active. Many are relegated to training/benched. Multiple personal units launched at once denotes A) the country has many resources in terms of IS and is willing to spare the money to take multiple test units out for a spin. B) They are basically flaunting power with either ignorance or disregard over the danger this poses to their position.

Status as in one's a Cadet and the other isn't...

But you're right, it doesn't matter any case. But having both of them enroll wouldn't cause any problem meta-wise, right? Granted, their government approved their enrollment.

And you'll probably wonder why they decide to enroll despite the recent little event. Let's just say these trio of transfers have one thing in common: Desire for action.

it would make sense to send multiple candidates out. This allows them to gain experience outside of just training regiments restricted within their countries. However it would be a bit problematic if they all had personal units. Again refer to my previous statement.

Not having a personal unit despite being a representative cadet is really embarrassing but realize that some may accept it because they aren't high enough rank. Kanzashi's case can be considered unique as we can safely assume she was top rank amongst japanese representative cadets but her unit was left incomplete in favor of completing Ichika's Byakushiki.

Understandable. Then again, character-wise, should I either make them:

- Clingy sisters
or
- Best friends
or
- Ojou-sama and Guardian

Friendly rivals feel about right. Then again I don't know the nature of the couple. Mostly I can see deadly competitiveness. But if its within ISA... just friendly jibes at best and haughty arrogance at worst.

They share a long history of working together for a common goal, which is represented by their respective units being from the same lineage.

Best friends is pretty much the best way I can represent them given their history.

Also, is it weird if someone has a Japanese first name and a Western surname?

not really. In Japan, it's uncommon but you might here names like Joe Matsunaga. John Murakami. Not too common but they really do happen.
