I'm satisfied with the ending. I don't think the entire final chapter needed to be about the reincarnations, bu I can accept it.
My main complaint about the final arc is that Nezuko did nothing during it. Overall it was a solid manga and a good read.

Nezuko's situation was a parallel situation to Chapter 1, but now with Tanjirou, which worked out fine.
As I mentioned earlier, she carried the team in the Daki-Gyuutarou fight, not to mention the Hantengu fight. Let the Pillars do their thing. If she would have joined with fighting capabilities, you should already know that after a glorious moment, she would have been the source for Muzan's powerup. Expectations not met, not to mention the "5 senses"... or "4 senses" were pretty useless against Muzan outside of some hits. Even Tanjirou got fucked up. |

I read the entire thing in 3 days. Started out great, and it kept going for a good while, up to the final arc. Even then, lots of great fights and sacrifices with meaning, however:
- Muzan's fight, while making sense, was superfluous at best. I liked most of it, but it could have had less headhunting and more effective delaying Muzan's escape. The dude's frikken immortal, just pin him down with 20 swords and let him roast, it would mostly be a death by poison, which also adds a lot to the whole co-operative spirit of the fight. - Demon Tanjiro. This fight took a lot from a classic Dracula fight in a Castlevania game, but this part was totally unnecessary. I also see it as a poor excuse to have Nezuko do something. - Final chapter. I get it, nearly everyone died, it's really dark, but that's how the series has been set up to be from the very beginning. While I don't really mind, why the sudden change of style? All that being said, the characters get a lot of development, minus Muzan, the biwa demon, the Shinazugawa bros and Tengen. The plot is immersive and for all of its repetitive formula of killing demons, getting a sob story, recovering and starting over again, it was very easy to read. 7.5/10 is the least I'd rate this. |
