I've run into that bug myself and it seems to happen when there's two lines in the subtitle script that display at the same time but aren't ordered by start time in the script. In this case I'm guessing that the typesetting line for the episode title appears in the script after the dialogue line even though the typesetting start time is earlier. To avoid it, I use Aegisub's Timing > Sort by Time function on the whole script just before I export the final version.

Also, it only seems to happen when the script is muxed into a file, at least in my experience. Everything always renders fine when the subtitle file is external but after I mux it the bug pops up.

Well, I have a problem here.
Before I formatted my comp, I had a huge collection of fonts in Aegisub, now I have some which all look the same with some differences(the corners, etc...)
Is there anyway to increase the fonts in Aegisub?(Me haz to sub Digimonz)

Aegisub uses the fonts that are installed on your system, if you want more fonts in Aegisub you just need to install more fonts, period. Free fonts can be found on various places on the internet (use google). Nonfree fonts can be found in the usual places.

I can tell you that most of the really good fonts are commercial fonts, and some commercial fonts can cost up to USD 1000 for a single font family.
No, can't point you to any good, big collections of fonts you can get for free.

Is there a bug in the font collector of aegis? I mean in the styles. I have two fonts named almost the same (I have put like font_1 and font_2 ) and it only recognises the font_1 even though they have different file names to. Just to note they are normal and bold of the same type.

It's more like, it's actually impossible to make a perfect font collector the way Windows' font subsystem works. We're doing the best we can but sometimes that's just not good enough.

So, I recently bought one of those cool little netbooks, an HP mini 1000 series for like $350 bucks.

I'd love to be able to take it along to coffee shops and things and translate/time on it, but there's one problem with running aegisub on it: There's not enough vertical resolution. The thing has a native res of 1024x600, and so when you have the waveform and the text input box, the actual script grid is completely squashed to zero size.

I can resize the video down very small, but there's no way to resize the audio waveform as far as I can tell. I can effect the scale it's displayed at, but the overall dimensions I can't change. Another thing that would work would be if I could pop off the waveform like you can pop off the video.

Is there some way around the problem or am I basically asking for a feature request? P.S. the video drivers don't allow you to set a resolution higher than 1024x600 and have you scroll with the mouse. There's a hack for this, but it doesn't seem to be stable.

Some way to remove some of the toolbars in the editing area could probably help a bit on it. Detachable audio might get in some day, but it's not trivial.
Aegisub was originally designed for no smaller than 1024x768, but we'll probably have to rethink that assumption now with netbooks.

Can you put it on our Uservoice page? (I've got a link in my sig.)

The waveform is resizable -- directly between the scroll bar and the times is a draggable bar:

That feature doesn't exactly advertise itself; in fact there is an open bug report (created two years ago) regarding just that. Nobody's ever managed to fix it, and I don't think anyone's complained to wxWidgets about it either.

Well, thanks to this thread it works great for me now. I just finished timing/translating my first episode completely on a netbook. Haha! Fansubbing first, perhaps.

The intel atom chip and 2 gigs of ram are plenty fast enough for everything except the video preview in real time. Actually video players work fine, but the one in aegissub is highly non-optimized, I guess, and too slow for real time playback. But, like the help file says, it's not _supposed_ to be for that, so I can't complain.

I'm having a little ordeal here and was seeing if someone could assist me.

I just timed an entire movie to the first TL (which hadn't been TL checked or edited yet) and now I'm looking to replace all the original lines with the ones from the final script. Am I looking at a night of copy and pasting or is there an easy way to do this?

Look into the Paste Over function, it's made exactly for jobs like that.
Open the timed script in one copy of Aegisub and the final translation in another Aegisub window, copy all the lines from the translation, then select Edit -> Paste Over in the one with the proper timing.
Now, if the number of lines has changed (like some lines were split or joined, or missing lines added) you'll still have some manual work to do identifying those.

Assuming they have the same amount of lines (ie: the unedited script is 300 lines & the edited script is also 300 lines), then all you do in Aegisub is:

Edit -> Paste Lines Over

Then you have the option to paste over only the text from the edited script.

I have a problem here...again..
Since I formatted my pc, the timing started to now work.
But, only the karaoke, the rest is fine though. I divide everything properly, then I do the sylable timing and when I go to check it, it resets everything to its original sylable timing.:/

You do remember to press Commit, right?
The green checkmark button, or G on the keyboard.
